Halle Bailey And DDG Break Up After Two Years Together: 'This Decision Was Not Easy'

Halle Bailey's partner, DDG, just announced that he and the singer are going their "separate ways" after dating for two years.

According to the rapper, it was a hard decision for them to make, but they jointly decided that it was the best way forward. The duo shares a son, Halo, whose birth they announced in January this year.

Halle Bailey and DDG's relationship has come under scrutiny on several occasions due to cheating allegations, with a vocal group of people online advising the actress to break up with the rapper.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Thursday, DDG shared the shocking news that he and Bailey have decided to end their two-year romance.

He wrote, "Dear friends and supporters, After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it's the best path forward for both of us."

The rapper continued, "I cherish the time we've spent together and the love we've shared. Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we've built and the beautiful moments we've shared."

Concluding his lengthy statement, DDG requested, "As we navigate this transition, we ask for your understanding and support. Thank you for your love and encouragement. - DDG Х."

Bailey has yet to comment on the split personally.

Bailey and DDG's romance has been heavily scrutinized online since it was revealed that the singer was dating the rapper.

Some fans of the Disney star felt she was too good for DDG, who sparked controversy after seemingly dissing Bailey in his song "Famous."

So it's no surprise that the reactions online seem mostly celebratory of the couple's split, with several individuals on X (formerly Twitter) commenting that Bailey is "finally free."

One wrote, "Halle Bailey finally free from the shackles of that loser DDG." Another person said, "Just found out that Halle and DDG broke up, the lord finally freed my sister from the clutches of that man!."

However, others claimed it might be a prank, noting that Diddy has a history of playing serious pranks on his fans.

In May 2023, Bailey shared insights about her relationship with DDG with People magazine.

When asked if she'd label him a real Prince Charming, she replied, "Yeah. I would say that."

The actress reflected on their love for each other, saying: "I think the best thing about young love is that you're able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else."

She added, "And you're discovering new parts of yourself and maybe things that you didn't notice before about your heart."

In September last year, Bailey further spoke about her love for DDG during her interview with Cosmopolitan as their cover star.

She noted, "Love has been a really big one for me too, because that's something I'm experiencing for the first time, and it's, like, 'whoa' in your brain. It's just fireworks, a spark for creativity."

Bailey added, "You know, you have puppy love experiences, you think that's love. But this is my first deep, deep, real love."

Before DDG got slammed for seemingly dissing Bailey in his song "Famous," he faced cheating allegations in early 2023.

The "Hood Melody" rapper was accused of cheating on the actress with his ex-girlfriend, fellow rapper Rubi Rose.

Rose claimed in February 2023 that DDG had gifted Bailey one of her old shirts, which led to rumors swirling online. However, DDG and the "The Little Mermaid" star shut down the claims.

"The devil is working lol," Bailey penned in a tweet at the time. She then asked her fans not to believe claims coming from unknown sources regarding her relationship.
