Jennifer Aniston Says Being Forced To 'Belly Dance' As A Child At Family Parties Left Her With 'Trauma'

Jennifer Aniston recently shared childhood memories of being made by her parents to belly dance at family gatherings.

According to the famous actress, these incidents caused her trauma and have left her with lasting anxiety.

Jennifer Aniston also discussed her new children's book "Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life," inspired by her rescue dog Clyde, and her vision to create a fund supporting animal shelters.

During her recent appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Aniston opened up about an aspect of her childhood growing up in Thousand Oaks, California, with her soap star father, John Aniston, and her mother, Nancy Dow.

When Kimmel asked whether it was true that her family made her belly dance on Christmas Eve, Aniston confirmed it with a surprising "yes."

However, she added that it wasn't limited to the holidays. "Any time, not just Christmas Eve," she shared. "The Greeks love any kind of a family dinner, they would say, 'Let's get up and watch' - it's like when you say to your child, 'Play piano for everyone, let's sing for everyone.'"

Aniston admitted that being asked to perform as a child left her with lasting anxiety, joking that it's given her a form of PTSD.

"I get such anxiety when my friends do that to their children," she said, per the Daily Mail. "I have inner trauma from having to perform and belly dance in front of my Greek aunts and uncles and grandmothers."

During the chat, Aniston confirmed her unique beauty treatment—she admitted she's tried salmon sperm facials.

"But let me explain," Anistin began. "It's not like, 'How do you even get sperm out of a salmon? It was sort of unclear."

She went on to share how she trusted the esthetician: "I just took the woman's word that that's what it was. And I was like, 'Sure."

A visibly confused Kimmel stammered, trying to make sense of it:" 'Yeah, well, I mean - if it's not that - is that supposed... I mean, I don't know."

The 55-year-old clarified: "I don't know, supposed to be little, tiny like the micro needling that they do. And then it was to push in the salmon sperm. Don't I have beautiful salmon skin?"

Aniston appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to promote her new children's book, "Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life," inspired by her rescue dog, Clyde.

She even brought Clyde to the studio for his TV debut, joining her on stage with Kimmel. Aniston explained that the book centers around finding your purpose in life.

In a previous interview with People Magazine, the actress shared her vision for creating a fund to support animals worldwide, encouraging people to donate, even if it's just a dollar.

"It all adds up," she said. "We can get awareness out and help the shelters that are in desperate need."

Aniston noted that with each donation, the fund will support organizations that rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for animals.

"We can help these animals, and we can get awareness out, and help the shelters that are in desperate need of upkeep because they're falling apart," Aniston shared.

She added, "They can't keep up. And all you see is that we're euthanizing innocent, beautiful, perfectly, perfectly fine two-year-old dogs, or a puppy, or a litter. I can't. It's too much. It's too many."

Her appearance on the talk show comes after Aniston gave fans another peek inside her luxurious $21 million Bel-Air mansion.

Wearing a black slip dress paired with a red teardrop necklace and flip-flops, she read her children's book, "Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life," to four patiently seated dogs.

The video, filmed in her cozy TV lounge area, offered a glimpse into her elegant home. It revealed a wine room by the fireplace and a makeup mirror placed in the kitchen. Observant viewers also noticed two iced coffees on the kitchen island, along with several water glasses.

The Emmy winner's décor includes a Tom Ford coffee table book, a basket chair swing next to a glass table, and a striking purple crystal behind the sofa.

Aniston originally bought her stunning Bel-Air home for $12 million while married to Justin Theroux, and since then, she's made plenty of upgrades. The property boasts a swimming pool, an outdoor lounge area, and even a chicken coop.

TMZ recently reported that Aniston became the target of a swatting incident and was startled awake by police officers at her Bel-Air mansion.

An unidentified male caller had alerted authorities, falsely claiming that the "Friends" star was in a dire state and contemplating suicide.

The unknown person said that the actress was "not doing well" while providing her exact address, though he did not disclose her as a celebrity.

This call led to law enforcement rushing to her residence shortly after midnight and knocking on her door to ensure her safety.

However, they were met by her security team, who were surprised by their presence. After speaking directly with the actress, officers quickly realized the call had been a hoax.
