Travis Kelce's BFF Spills The Tea On Taylor Swift's Real Game Day Vibe
By Taylor Hodgkins on October 3, 2024 at 2:15 PM EDT
Singer Taylor Swift doesn't play when it comes to bringing upbeat energy to Travis Kelce's football games!
The "Out Of The Woods" songstress and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is one of the NFL's most visible couples, and for good reason! The 34-year-old's infectious energy in the VIP suite is frequently broadcast during the younger Kelce brother's games.
Kelce's gal has been seen hanging out with her friends on game days, including, but not limited to Blake Lively, and Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kelce's teammate, Patrick.
While Swift isn't bouncing around with her besties, she has been spotted with her man's parents, including his mama, Donna.
What about an insider's perspective? What is it really like to hang alongside one of the world's most popular pop stars on the highest of high-energy-filled days?
Taylor Swift Has Had A Massive Influence On Her Man
The pop icon's appearances at her man's football games have become so frequent to the point where her absence is duly noted. Swift has connected with members of Kelce's inner circle so well, to the point of his friends being able to see her impact on their teammate.
Dave Merrit, the Chiefs' defensive back coach, thinks that Kelce's boo has helped the Chiefs for the better.
Merrit has said Swift has "affected the team in a positive way," as The Blast previously reported. The "Paper Rings" songstress' influence on her man was soon visible to his crew.
"Everybody was excited that Travis was happy," Merrit recalled in a radio interview. "So when my player, my brother, is happy beside me, that helps me, and that encourages me," he explained. "And so Travis came in there a different man. So [Swift] helped us."
The 'So High School' Singer Was Soon Part Of The Chiefs 'Family'
Cameras may be quick to tune into the pop princess during game day, but there was a period where Swift's presence was more lowkey.
Crafting a friendship with her beau's crew was undoubtedly important for the "Tim McGraw" singer to the point where she started making appearances behind the scenes while cameras were absent.
Merritt continued, "When she started to come around, it was privately. She was coming into the stadiums without people really knowing until the camera put the big spotlight on her."
Spotlight or no spotlight, Swift's love for Kelce was visible to his teammates, and it was clear she also wanted to create relationships with his friends, as well.
"But upon meeting her, I felt like she actually added to what it was that we were trying to do," he continued, "Because there were so many people that were hating the fact that she was being shown on TV, that you know what, you're part of our family because you're now with Travis, so therefore you're our little sister or you're whatever it may be, you're part of family," Merritt also recalled, of Swift's place in their orbit.
Travis Kelce's Best Bud Gets Real About Taylor Swift

A close friend can know a lot. A close friend understands you inside and out. A close friend isn't afraid to let you know if they don't like your new partner.
Kelce's best pal, Aric Jones, seemingly doesn't have 'the ick' when it comes to the "Lover" singer!
Jones thinks Kelce's partner is "great," according to an interview with Page Six, per Us Weekly. He added that the pop star "is her own woman..."
Kelce's inner circle has a standing invitation for the "Love Story" singer to participate in their "fresh" get-togethers! Giving fans a taste of those fun nights, Jones added, "And like, if Taylor wants to participate with us on theme nights, of course, we welcome it..."
Swift's down-to-earth demeanor is a plus for the theme night vibes, according to Jones.
"But at the end of the day, just having her there and having her presence there is awesome. She’s there to cheer on her boyfriend and hang out with us and, to be quite honest, that’s enough," he continued.
There Have Been Some 'Blank Spaces' In Swift's Seat Lately
The latter part of the pop sensation's year is set to be busy. She will be completing her longstanding 'Eras Tour' in December and perhaps could be plotting the next re-recorded 'Taylor's Version' LP.
The "False God" singer's packed calendar is largely why she hasn't been seen in the stadium stands lately, per inside sources.
As The Blast previously reported, spectators began to wonder whether Swift's absence had to do with a deeper reason, wondering whether there could be trouble in paradise.
Sources were also quick to shut down an ongoing narrative that the "Fortnight" singer has been to blame for Kelce's recent lackluster performances on the field.
"It's absolutely absurd and misogynistic to speculate that Taylor's attendance impacts Travis' performance," a source told The Daily Mail. "He loves her support but doesn't expect her at every single game, just as she would not expect him at every Eras tour date. And fans don't make a fuss when he's not at every gig."
Taylor Swift And Brittany Mahomes Have Zero 'Bad Blood'
Recently, fans began to wonder whether politics would affect the vibe among the Swift and Kelce friend group.
Mrs. Patrick Mahomes, influencer Brittany, was seen supporting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on social media. The following Sunday, the girlies weren't seen celebrating together.
As The Blast previously reported, however, the two pals' seating arrangement was due to "different game day preferences," and the duo's political preferences weren't to blame; Swift recently endorsed Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris, in the 2024 Presidential election.
