John Amos' Family Claims Son KC Misled Public About Their Relationship
Despite the actor's death being in August, the family says they only learned about it through media reports weeks later, revealing deep family tensions.
In a statement released by the family, they accused the late legend's son, KC, of creating a misleading public image of a close relationship with his father. "KC portrayed an image of a close father-son relationship on social media, but the reality was far more complex," they said.
The late actor's relatives, including his daughter Shannon Amos and other close family members, claim that for over a year, John was isolated from them, with KC allegedly controlling and monitoring his interactions. According to TMZ, the family claimed:
"Despite our repeated attempts to maintain contact, KC prevented access to him, controlled and monitored his calls and severed ties with John's daughter Shannon Amos, his brother Leslie "Syl" Franklin, his grandchildren Quiera Colston and Jhazz Williams, his business manager Paul Baldessare, his god-daughter Amy Goudy, his niece Sherri Korsun, his former accountant and other close family members, friends, and loved ones."

In the statement, the family expressed deep concern over the actor's care during his final days, citing disturbing photos provided by concerned neighbors and medical professionals. The family amplified suspicions surrounding the circumstances of his death by revealing:
"KC often gave John verbal prompts to create a narrative on social media that was not reflective of the truth. We were deeply concerned that our father may have been neglected and isolated during his final days as we received photos from concerned neighbors and a medical professional,"

Although heartbroken, she found comfort in knowing her father was "finally free." The Blast reported that the 58-year-old and other relatives, including John's goddaughter Amy Goudy, issued a joint statement revealing their fears of foul play.
