Daniella Karagach and her husband, fellow "Dancing With the Stars" pro Pasha Pashkov, who tied the knot in 2014, found out they were expecting a baby in July 2022.

However, Daniella Karagach suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage, something that she is now opening up about.

Daniella Karagach Reveals That She Suffered A Miscarriage

On Wednesday, October 2, Daniella spoke to "Good Morning America" in honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, which is when the 31-year-old dancer candidly shared her experience with the loss she suffered at five weeks of pregnancy.

"I just remember one day I was pregnant, and then the next day I wasn't," she told the ABC morning show.

"And I just remember like, falling to the floor [and was] like, 'I can't believe this happened to me.'"

About five weeks into her pregnancy, the "Dancing With the Stars" pro recounted waking up in pain, only to later discover that she had experienced a miscarriage.

"If it was one day or a week, or five months, or three months, or one month, or whatever the timeline was, like, it was still a loss for me, and it was a huge loss," she told the outlet. "It was a baby, you know. So it was something we've wanted and pictured ourselves [with]."

Daniella Karagach Has A Message To All Of The Women Who Want Children

She explained that she chose to share her experience of miscarriage for the first time now to help other women feel less alone.

"I want people to know they're not alone, and a lot of people are going through the same thing," she said, admitting that at the time she was suffering, she felt too shy to reach out for help. "We didn't really want to have anyone judge us, you know, and tell us things we didn't want to hear."

She went on to say that she continued to grieve despite the loss occurring relatively early in her pregnancy at five weeks, describing the experience as still "gut-wrenching."

Daniella Karagach Says She Was In Her 'Lowest Of Lows'

Daniella described being in "my lowest of lows" following her pregnancy loss, something that is normal for those experiencing this traumatic experience. In fact, studies suggest that 10–15% of women experience depression following a miscarriage, with 34.1% showing positive depression screening results two weeks post-loss.

She credited her husband for helping her emerge from the darkness, referring to him as her "saving grace."

"Pasha really got me out of that, like state, and he was obviously grieving with me, and it wasn't easy to talk about at the moment, but he got me out of a really bad place," she said. "And we just truly believe that we need to trust and if it's going to happen, it's going to happen at the right time."

The Office of Women's Health reports that between 10 to 15% of confirmed pregnancies end in loss, with the actual percentage likely being higher since many occur before a woman even realizes she is pregnant.

Symptoms of pregnancy loss may include v-ginal bleeding, abdominal pain or cramps, lower back pain, and the passage of fluid, tissue, or clot-like material from the v-gina," per National Health Institute. "However, it's important to note that some women may not experience any symptoms at all. Pregnant women who have any concerning symptoms are advised to contact their healthcare provider immediately.

Miscarriage, or pregnancy loss, happens when a pregnancy ends unexpectedly before the 20th week, but it can occur so early that a woman may not even be aware that she is pregnant.

Daniella Karagach And Pasha Pashkov Welcome Baby Girl

Despite the traumatic experience of a miscarriage, Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkovir welcomed their first child, a daughter named Nikita, approximately one year later.

The couple announced Daniella's pregnancy in November 2022 with an adorable pair of tiny sneakers. The following month, the dancers celebrated the gender of their baby by revealing it with pink balloons and confetti.
