On Monday, September 30, former "Bachelor" star Colton Underwood announced the joyous arrival of his first child with husband Jordan Brown, sharing the news on Instagram.

In May, the "Bachelor" alum revealed that he and his husband, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on May 13, were expecting their first child via surrogate.

Colton Underwood's son, Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood, was born on Thursday, September 26.

One of the photos shared with fans features Colton and Jordan holding baby Bishop in a carrier, marking their debut as a family of three. "Our world is a million times better with you in it. Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood," Colton captioned the post. "September 26th, 2024."

Other black-and-white images capture the newborn sleeping peacefully and grasping his dad's finger.

Chris Harrison, former host of "The Bachelor," commented, "Congratulations guys. Sending our love and blessings."

Reality television star Harry Jowsey wrote, "Wow congratulations."

Colton Underwood Opens Up About Fatherhood

In February, Colton Underwood discussed his journey to fatherhood with People Magazine, announcing that he was documenting his experiences on a new podcast titled "Daddyhood."

At that time, the former reality television star revealed that he and his husband had created and frozen embryos and were in the process of testing with their chosen surrogate, whose identity they opted to keep private.

“Our doctor actually let our surrogate tell us, which I thought was so special. She got to text us and share the exciting news, and it was such a moment of, I think, relief for us,” Colton said. “We're so fortunate and lucky to have her, but her to make us feel a part of it too, it was really special.”

Colton Underwood's Family Is Excited For The Couple

Upon discovering they would be parents, Colton Underwood shared that he and Jordan Brown took the first two days to fully absorb the news before sharing it with their family and friends.

“Everybody's been so excited. My family especially knows how long I've wanted to be a dad, and they just know my journey of coming out. [Wanting] to be a father was something that kept me in the closet for a long time," he said. "So for me to be able to say we're pregnant is really big and really emotional.”

Colton Underwood Comes Out As Gay

Colton first gained fame as a contestant on "The Bachelorette" in 2018 and later became the star of "The Bachelor" in 2019. Throughout his time on the reality television shows, his sexuality was a topic of speculation, but he did not publicly address it at the time.

He officially came out as gay during an interview with "Good Morning America" in April 2021. He shared that he had struggled with his sexuality for years and felt relief in finally being honest about who he is.

After his coming out, Colton has advocated for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility. He even launched a podcast titled "Evolving with Colton" to further discuss his experiences and challenges.

Colton Underwood Gets Married

In 2022, Colton Underwood announced his engagement to Jordan Brown. Colton's journey has resonated with many and has helped to promote acceptance and understanding within the LGBTQ+ community.

Colton and Jordan tied the knot in a romantic ceremony attended by 200 guests at the Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa Valley in May 2023. The couple walked down the aisle hand in hand, exchanging personal vows and rings before celebrating with friends and family at the reception.

"We wanted to break some of the traditional norms of what a ceremony and a wedding look like," Colton told People at the time. "And for the entire weekend, we recognize that a lot of people attending, both of our families and some of our friends, this will be their first queer wedding. We really want to make it special."

The couple shared their first dance together to "The Good Ones" by Gabby Barrett. "We love it," Colton said of their song choice. "It's just one of those songs that both remind us of each other and are special to us."
