In January, Kodak Black receiving some very good news while he was incarcerated. Donald Trump pardoned him in his last day as president, as that got Kodak out of his 46-month prison sentence. Kodak was incarcerated due to him falsifying information on gun applications in 2019. That year, he was arrested kin May at the Rolling Loud festival in May on those charges. Kodak would go on to be sentenced in November. The initial release date would’ve been August of 2022.
Kodak Avoids Prison Time For 2016 Sexual Assault Case In South Carolina
Even though Kodak was pardoned for the gun case, he had more legal woes on the horizon. This was for his February 2016 sexual assault case where he allegedly committed this crime against a teenage girl in a hotel room. Kodak pled guilty to first-degree assault and battery in this case on Wednesday and in return, he received a 10-year suspended prison sentence and placed on 18 months of supervised state probation, per TMZ. Kodak was initially indicted on a felony charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. His attorneys, Bradford Cohen and Beattie Ashmore, were able to get this plea deal done, though.
Kodak’s Crimes Were Detailed By The Teenager
This young girl originally detailed how aggressive Kodak was in this hotel room back in 2016. He allegedly pushed her into a wall and onto a bed. From there, the Florida rapper began to bite on her breast and neck. When the reports of this incident first surfaced, Kodak quickly denied any involvement. Kodak Proclaims His Innocence On Twitter
On Wednesday evening, Kodak took to his Twitter feed to let everyone know he was innocent. He also added that both sides wanted to get this case over with as he isn’t registered as a sex offender either.
“5 yrs later … both us just wanted to get this s*it over wit AND I ain’t have to come off no money. Ain’t gotta register as a sex offender or nun , shit that’s a play if you ask me. lol y’all got me f*cked up I ain’t dat freaky homie.”
Kodak Must Follow Restrictions While On Probation
Despite Kodak not returning to prison, there are some regulations that must be followed while on probation. According to TMZ, no ankle monitor is required but Kodak’s probation officer must be made aware of where he goes and moves to. Drugs, alcohol, and gun possession, are all a no-go for all 18 months of this period. These are hard to avoid in the lifestyle of a rapper but they must be done if Kodak wants to not return to prison again.
