Anna Delvey also reflected on her brief time on the show in an interview with "Good Morning America." When asked if she felt she had received the second chance she was hoping for, Delvey responded swiftly, "That's been wasted? Yeah, of course."

Days after her elimination, Delvey appeared on Tori Spelling's podcast, where she reflected on the reason behind her brief comment.

“Because that was the truth," she said. “You guys told me what I'm supposed to do. I tried to do it and then I still was rejected. And, I'm taking away nothing. This is what I'm taking away from it because your advice was worthless."

“The advice … did not pay off for me, even though I tried to follow it. And this is how I felt,” she continued. “I know... people were trying to interpret my answer in different ways, but no, not really. I really did not take away much from this experience.”

Delvey later added, “I think I had to be on the defensive, especially after all the backlash that I received being cast on the show, even though the producers [tried] to defend me and I think everyone on the cast was generally very nice to me. But in the end, I don't know.”

Anna Delvey was taken aback by her early elimination from "Dancing With the Stars," particularly after receiving a lot of positive feedback during the show's early episodes.

“I thought, like, ‘Well, they were building me up.’ It’s like, ‘Well, only if you smile more, only if you do X, Y, Z, it’s going to be so much better,’” the told Tori Spelling on her “Misspelling” podcast. “It felt like they put so much effort in trying to get me on the show and make me feel comfortable, just to eliminate me this early."

She continued,  "I see it, yeah, like an attempt of an embarrassment for us to get eliminated before Eric [Roberts] or Reginald [VelJohnson] in a dancing competition. Even though in the end it’s not that big of a deal.”

The 33-year-old added that she had anticipated that her time on "Dancing With the Stars" would provide her with a second chance to reveal her true self to the world.

“It just felt a bit upsetting to me,” Delvey said. “It felt like a waste of time for me to do all this for them to just discard me so easily."

While living in New York City, Anna impersonated a wealthy German heiress, seamlessly integrating herself into the city’s elite social scene. During her time there, she deceived numerous individuals, hotels, and banks, often relying on fake credit cards and forged bank statements to maintain her façade of affluence.

On April 25, 2019, Anna was convicted of eight charges in Manhattan’s State Supreme Court, including attempted first-degree grand larceny, as well as second and third-degree grand larceny and theft of services.

"I know the show was very excited to have me on, but the large part of the audience is not the people who would usually be excited about me in general," she said on the podcast. “I never had high expectations for [the] show for myself."
