Justin Bieber is breaking his silence after being accused of cultural appropriation by debuting a new hairstyle...dreadlocks.
The 'Yummy' singer took to Instagram and wrote a lengthy message to his fans about humans wanting to be "liked and accepted." The message included telling everyone part of the answer can be found in religion.
As you know, Justin debuted his new hairstyle over the weekend and face harsh criticism for wearing it in that fashion. Many took to social media to express their displeasure with the singer's decision and it appears that may have prompted his message.
See It Below.
"All of us humans just want to be liked, fit in, belong, feel heard, be accepted....we all have our own insecurities that we try and hide and we make it seem like we have it all together. Aren't we all broken? We can all hide behind superficial things but the truth is we are all hurting," Justin wrote on IG.
He continued, "The answer can't be within ourselves, the answer must be in a perfect one, one who can rescue us from our humanness. The one who designed us and knew us before we were formed. The one who knows the end from the beginning. The creator of the ocean and the mountains. God's plan is better than our own. TRUST HIM."

As you can see, Justin showed off the new hairstyle and followed up with a controversial selfie with another few photos sharing the look.
Many people took to social media [to criticize his choice,]( with one saying, "Justin Beiber has ALWAYS preyed on Black Culture, y’all just ignored it #JustinBieber #culturalappropriation #culturevulture #dreads."
Another added, "Why is Justin Bieber really out in the world with some dreads fr? Like bro, your team, your WIFE was like YES this is a great decision? Yet ANOTHER shot at cultural appropriation!"
There's More...
Interestingly, Justin didn't directly challenge the criticism or respond to people with issues about his hair. Instead, it appears he reminded everyone that many are just trying to "fit in" and do their best to be "liked" by others.
This is not the first time Justin has had issues with this subject, back in 2016, he sported dreadlocks for the first time while promoting his fourth album, "Purpose."
At the time, he joked about the backlash in an Instagram video, saying, "'Dude you gonna do anything with your hair, or are you just gonna leave it like that, dude?' Yeah, some girl came up to me and she was like, 'I love you, Justin, but like, that's like my least favorite hairstyle of yours.'"
