Sean "Diddy" Combs' attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has a lot to say about the arrest and charges brought against the disgraced rapper after a grand jury indictment.

He recently argued that the federal charges, which include racketeering and sex trafficking, reflect systemic bias against successful Black individuals.

Diddy is currently detained at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center following allegations dating back to 2008 that he coerced and abused women.

Agnifilo, a former Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan, criticized the government's actions, arguing that the charges against the music mogul, which includes racketeering and sex trafficking, exemplify the federal government's long-standing hostility toward successful Black individuals.

During an appearance on TMZ's "The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment," Agnifilo stated that the federal government is "historically no friend of the successful black man."

He noted: "They start making this case as a takedown of a successful Black man. This is the government scrutinizing his business, scrutinizing his taxes, he does everything right."

Agnifilo questioned the motives behind probing into Diddy's personal life, adding: "What's the last vestige, we are going to go into his bedroom because maybe we don't like the way he is having sex."

He also highlighted Diddy's achievements as a prominent Black businessman, lamenting that society has unfairly painted him as a "monster."

Diddy was taken into custody last week by Homeland Security officials at the Park Hyatt hotel in midtown Manhattan and is currently held at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center as he awaits trial.

The charges against him, which date back to 2008, allege that he has abused, threatened, and coerced women over the years to satisfy his sexual desires while protecting his reputation and concealing his actions.

More details from the indictment show that the rapper used a criminal organization to perpetrate the crimes he is charged with, as well as other illegal activities, including kidnapping, arson, and bribery.

The organization, known as The Combs Enterprise, also appears to be the channel with which Diddy "arranged" and "directed" an illicit venture called the "Freak Offs."

According to the indictment, the "Freak Offs" were "elaborate and produced sex performances" that included women who were drugged and made to sleep with male prostitutes.

These performances, which could go on for days, were often "electronically recorded," and Diddy "m-sturbated during" these recordings.

The indictment claims that some of these "Freak Offs" could last for days, necessitating IV fluids for both Diddy and the participants to recover from physical exertion and drug use.

Federal agents reportedly seized "1,000 bottles" of baby oil and lubricant during raids on his residences in Miami and Los Angeles earlier this year.

Speaking to the New York Post, Agnifilo commented on the volume of items seized, suggesting that Diddy's bulk purchasing habits are similar to those of many Americans.

"I don't think it was 1,000 bottles; I think it was a lot. I mean, there is a Costco right down the street. I think Americans buy in bulk, as we know."

However, Costco clarified that they do not stock baby oil in any of their stores nationwide.

Agnifilo has also defended Diddy's "freak offs," noting that "These are consensual adults doing what consensual adults do, you know, we can't get so puritanical in this country to think that somehow sex is a bad thing because if it was there would be no more people."

The lawyer expressed confidence in his client's outlook, noting, "He's just laser-focused, he's engaged, he's helpful, he's confident. We're going through our defense as we do every day and his spirits are relatively good."

Diddy Is Being Held At The Infamous Brooklyn MDC Jail

The disgraced rapper is held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center and will remain there until his trial after he was denied bail twice this past week.

Federal prosecutors have accused him of "creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in … sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice."

According to TMZ, prosecutors argued that he is too dangerous to be released on bail and may resort to coercing witnesses on the case to do his bidding.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter ruled against Diddy's bail petition, saying he was turning it down because "the government has proven the defendant is a danger. The bail package is insufficient even on risk of flight."

The Rapper Will Testify During His Trial

Diddy's lawyer, Agnifilo, has shared that the rapper will be testifying in his criminal trial.

He acknowledged that the move might be a gamble because the prosecutors would have a chance to grill Diddy during a cross-examination.

However, Agnifilo believes that the Grammy winner is in the best position to defend himself in court.

"He has his story, and he has a story that I think only he can tell in the way he can tell it in real-time," Agnifilo said, per The Mirror. "And it's a human story. It's a story of, of, of love. It's a story of hurt. It's a story of heartbreak."
