The "Finding Nemo" star knew it was time to leave the spotlight earlier this Summer following a string of canceled shows on her tour.

In July, DeGeneres proclaimed viewers wouldn't see her doing any major work publicly, following the then-current "Ellen's Last Stand...Up" tour. In a California tour stop, DeGeneres told the "nearly sold out" audience "...This is the last time you're going to see me. After my Netflix special, I'm done," as previously reported by The Blast.

The contents of the former talk show host's tour filled fans in on how she has been living her life after the cancellation of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." The show ran for nearly two decades.

In DeGeneres' aforementioned Netflix special released last Friday, the executive producer of "Family Game Night" took a moment to draw attention to her personal life. In a section of "Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval," DeGeneres discussed an unwanted aspect of aging: medical diagnoses.

After seeking a bone-density test, the comedian discovered she had osteoporosis, which, according to People, affects one in five women over the age of 50.

The star thought something might be wrong after having "excruciating pain one day and I thought I tore a ligament or something and I got an MRI and they said, ‘No, it's just arthritis,’” she continued. “I said, ‘How did I get that?’ And he said, ‘Oh it just happens at your age..."

Ellen DeGeneres Also Discovered She Has OCD

DeGeneres' difficult ending to her decades-long career in show business inspired her to seek therapy.

While the "Lady Parts" star sought therapy, her discoveries led her to discover she had obsessive-compulsive disorder. The thought of having 'OCD' didn't really seem to surprise DeGeneres initially: the actress revealed she had misunderstood what the 'O' meant in the disorder's acronym.

"I may have OCD because a therapist said so and I said, ‘Yes I am very organized,’ because I thought that was the O," DeGeneres said of the initial experience. She went on to explain her religious background while growing up prevented her from seeking further information or understanding what OCD is.

"I didn't know what OCD was. I was raised in a religion, Christian Science, that doesn't acknowledge diseases or disorders. So when I was growing up, nobody talked about anything. There was no discussion of anything," the "Little Big Shots" executive producer continued.

DeGeneres' father's habits caught her attention in hindsight, as well.

The actress, known for bringing 'Dory' to life, thought back to some of her father's habits.

"I look back now and I realize my dad for sure had OCD,” she added. “He would check the doorknob 15 times before we'd leave, he'd check the faucet 15 times, he would unplug all the appliances before we left the house because lightning could strike and it could catch fire. They say it could be hereditary," DeGeneres joked.

The "Ellen" star didn't stop there; she also details her recent diagnosis with Attention Deficit Disorder, or as it's more commonly known, 'ADD.' The star detailed her difficulty with focusing for long periods of time.

"Do you know how hard it was for me to put this together," DeGeneres quipped. "Of course you don't. Why would I ask that question? It's hard for me to focus," the "Larry Sanders Show" guest star continued.

The 'Finding Dory' Star Described Herself As Being A 'Harsh' Boss

DeGeneres also did not shy away from discussing the controversies leading her to step away from the spotlight on her recent stand-up tour.

While she acknowledged she could be "harsh" and had been "immature" at times, DeGeneres doubled down during her California stop, by stressing, "I am many things, but I am not mean."

The comedian continued to make light of the allegations by starting her show by telling the crowd, "Thank you for still caring," as previously reported by The Blast.

Ellen DeGeneres' Comedy Tour Faced Multiple Cancellations

The "Ellen's Last Stand...Up" tour, which lasted a month last year, featuring several dates in July and August, featured multiple sudden cancellations.

As The Blast previously reported, fans who had purchased tickets to several dates received emails from Ticketmaster revealing the events had been canceled. These included shows in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago.

The emails penned the cancellations on DeGeneres' team, citing the "Event Organizer" as being responsible for pulling the plug on these dates.
