Britney Spears' Parents at War, Dad Rips Mom Over 'Exploiting' Star

Britney Spears' parents are set to face off in court over the accounting details of the pop star's conservatorship, and things could get nasty.

According to filed documents in the conservatorship, Britney's mom, Lynne Spears recently raised objections to Jamie Spears' fee allowance and costs, including the high-priced legal bill of his attorneys.

In a new filing obtained by The Blast, Jamie now takes aim at Lynne by suggesting she is not acting in the best interests of their daughter. He also claims Lynne "has not been involved in their daughter’s conservatorship until very recently, and she is now raising objections to fees related to matters that she has no knowledge of."

Jamie claims Lynne is "causing undue delay and expense in the administration of the Conservatorship, and ironically, stirring up more unnecessary media attention."

According to the documents, Jamie Spears even suggests that Lynne "is the one who exploited her daughter’s pain and trauma for personal profit by publishing a book," about Britney.

Lynne has published many books about the family over the years, including the 2008 memoir, "Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World."

Jamie also claims his ex-wife's counsel recently served Sam Lutfi’s attorneys with her objections to Jamie's attorney's fees. There has already been several incidents between Lutfi and Britney's team, and Jamie claims that the sharing of information may have been a move by Lynne.

"Whether it was an intentional act or a careless error, this again evidences that Lynne Spears is not acting in the best interests of the Conservatee," Jamie states.

Jamie is using the ongoing public attention to Britney's legal issues as a reason he needs to keep such a close watch.

According to the documents, he claims that Britney's conservatorship continues to be, the "subject of increasingly intense media scrutiny both in traditional news media as well as on social media and most recently documentary films."

As for the high attorney fees, Jamie's legal team explains the costs were racked up while defending their client from:

"Specious allegations that have threatened to tarnish his reputation as a loving, caring father who has nothing to hide, has been loyal and fiercely loving toward his daughter, sought to protect her, and manage her finances so that she can live her life the way she wants."

Jamie Spears claims to have an impeccable track record before the court and believes officials are well aware of how Britney and her entire Estate have benefited from Jamie's "steadfast and careful management for over a decade."

Jamie claims all of his actions, which have been brought into question, were made in the best interests of Britney and he has ultimate "confidence" that the court will see things his way.

The judge presiding over Britney's conservatorship is expected to give her ruling Tuesday regarding the accounting and costs.
