It’s been less than two weeks since Jennifer Lopez called off her engagement to Alex Rodriguez. Although, it’s a heartbreaking time for the singer/actress, she’s not letting it get her down. The star is keeping busy as she works on the upcoming film “Shotgun Wedding.”

Aside from work keeping her mind off the break up, Lopez is also receiving a lot of support from family and friends. One person who’s been a big source of comfort for Jennifer is her ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Lopez and Anthony had been friends for years before the two tied the knot in June 2004. This was Lopez’s third marriage, and Anthony’s second. Prior to her marriage to Anthony, Lopez had ended her high-profile engagement to Ben Affleck. Meanwhile, days before his nuptials to Lopez, Anthony had finalized his divorce from Dayanara Torres.

Lopez adjusted to her new role as stepmom to Anthony’s three kids. The practice as stepmom would come in hand when Lopez gave birth to twins Max and Emme in February 2008. 

However, the third time wouldn’t be the charm in Jennifer’s quest for love. In July 2011, the couple announced their divorce. Despite their divorce, the exes remain close friends and have spoken about the importance of co-parenting. Speaking of her split with Anthony, Lopez explained “we’re in a really good place.”

Jennifer has stated in the past that with her and Marc’s friendship the two would always be there for each other. Marc has been comforting his ex-wife as she deals with her broken engagement to Rodriguez. Marc and the kids have been making trips to the Dominican Republic to visit Jennifer onset o her new movie.

According to reports, Jennifer finds having Marc around to be “very comforting.”  News of Marc supporting Lopez following her break up shows the special friendship the two have. However, it’s also led to speculation about a possible reunion. 

Lopez and Alex Rodriguez turned heads when they began dating in February 2017. The singer and the New York Yankees player seemed like a perfect match. The two became a blended family with Jennifer’s twins and Rodriguez’s daughters.

After two years of dating, the couple became engaged in March 2019. They were originally going to tie the knot in Italy in 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic had them postponing plans. 2021 would prove to be the breaking point in their relationship.

In March, rumors circulated that Rodriguez cheated on Lopez with “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy. The rumors started after LeCroy’s co-star Craig Conover accused her of having an affair with an ex-MLB player. LeCroy admitted to having phone conversations with Rodriguez, but that’s how far as it went.

Rodriguez denied the cheating allegations, and Jennifer stood by his side. However, her trust issues were too big to ignore and led to her calling off their engagement.

Although, the couple split up, many are wondering it they’re really over for good. Recently, Lopez and Rodriguez were spotted having dinner together, days after their break up. The two met at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, which so happens to be where they had their first date.

The reason for their recent dinner date was so the couple could talk about their split. Although, JLo thinks it’s best for them to go their separate ways, A-Rod isn’t given up. The 45-year-old isn’t giving up and is willing to do anything to win Lopez back.
