No leniency—is the message from the court for Julie Chrisley at her resentencing hearing.
The reality star's resentencing judge upheld her initial 84-month sentence in the tax evasion and fraud case despite claims of a legal error. Julie was also denied the opportunity to show up in prison by herself after 24 hours.
Julie Chrisley and her husband, Todd Chrisley, received a combined 19-year sentence in 2022 and have been spending time at their respective prisons since January 2023.
Julie Chrisley's Initial Sentencing Deemed Sufficient For Her Crime
The Northern District of Georgia judge resentenced the 51-year-old to the same duration she previously received.
During the hearing, which was held at a court in downtown Atlanta, the judge shared that she received letters from Julie's family, including her daughter Savannah Chrisley and a licensed therapist for Grayson and Chloe.
The judge noted that in her experiences, most cases do involve people with minors at home who do not have the ability to provide the same resources like access to therapy like the Chrisleys.
While she was concerned about the children, the judge insisted that Julie would not "get a pass from criminal conduct" because she is a parent.
PEOPLE shared that, in addition to the resentencing, the judge also denied Julie's attorney's request that she self-report back to jail in Kentucky after a 24-hour furlough.

Julie was reportedly unrecognizable during the hearing and addressed the court tearfully while apologizing for her wrongdoing. She also apologized to her kids, Savannah and Chase Chrisley, who were in court, for how the legal matter had impacted her family. Julie's declared to the court saying:
"I would like to say I've had years to think about what I've wanted to say and I'm sorry for my actions and situations that led us to where we are today."
The Chrisley family matriarch further said, "I have spent 20 months in prison, but it has been much more leading up to the trial, and I apologize for my actions that led to where we are today."
She noted that she has tried to get closer to her family, including learning new skills, like driving a forklift and serving food properly. "This has been the most difficult part of my life. I can't ever repay my children for what they've had to go through and for that, I am so sorry," she concluded.
Julie's Resentencing Was Ordered Due To A Discovered Legal Error

The reality star was sentenced to 7 years in prison back in November 2022 alongside her 55-year-old husband, who got a 12-year sentence for fraud and tax evasion.
The Blast reported that the federal appeal judges ordered that her former sentence be thrown out after a legal error was found in the trial judge's calculation of her inmate sentencing.
Her first sentence reportedly held her liable for the entire bank fraud scheme instead of admitting she was only a part of it.
The fraud and federal tax evasion also involved other people, including Todd and their accountant, Peter Tarantino, which meant she could not be held accountable alone for all the crimes.
Julie's case was sent back to the lower court for review and resentencing while her husband and Tarantino's sentences remained the same.
Todd Chrisley's Appeal For A Sentence Review Was Thrown Out
Court documents revealed that the district court must address "what the proper loss amount attributable to Julie is for the purposes of the base offense level, restitution, and forfeiture."
It stated that the district court must make factual findings about the timeline of Julie's involvement in the conspiracy. The document added that if Julie's involvement began in 2006, the court must also "identify the evidence on which it bases its finding."
Alex Little, the couple's legal rep, expressed their relief at that time that Julie's sentence was deemed improper. However, he shared that they were "obviously disappointed that it rejected Todd's appeal."

The reality star entered legal trouble in August 2019 when a federal grand jury indicted her and Todd on several fraud and tax evasion charges.
The couple's crimes included one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, five counts of bank fraud, one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States, and one count of tax fraud.
Julie was also charged with one count of wire fraud and one count of obstruction of justice, and the couple was ordered to pay $17.8 million in damages.
They ran out of luck in 2022 when they were each found guilty on all counts, and all efforts to get out of their misery have proved ineffective.
What is the next step for Julie Chrisley following this crushing disappointment?
