Reba McEntire Makes Snoop Dogg Cry On 'The Voice'

During the season 26 premiere of "The Voice" on Monday, country legend Reba McEntire made an unforgettable move that left everyone, including fellow coach Snoop Dogg, crying.

After contestant Kendall Eugene poured his heart into a soulful rendition of Morgan Wallen's "Don't Thank Jesus," no chairs turned—but that didn’t stop the coaches from praising him and urging him to try again next season.

Reba McEntire, however, wasn’t about to let it end there as she instantly regretted not turning her chair.

Reba decided to step up in a way no one saw coming, telling Eugene, “I liked everything about it" to which he told her that she "should've turned."

"I was going to say that exact same words," the singer said. "I don't understand why I did not turn around."

She wasn’t done yet! In a jaw-dropping moment, she announced that she was about to make "The Voice" “history” by becoming the first-ever coach to use the Coach Replay button.

The brand-new feature allows coaches to change their minds after a blind audition if they didn’t turn their chairs the first time around—giving Eugene a second chance that no one saw coming.

“We’ve got this new thing this year, that is a Coach Replay button. I’m going to use mine,” she said as she hit her button, bringing Eugene to tears instantly. Even Snoop Dogg couldn’t hold back, visibly moved by the heartfelt moment that took the whole room by surprise.

"Wow! Go give that man a hug,” he said.

"I love that song that Kendall was singing. And after the song was over, I felt kind of numb. I knew in my heart I wanted him on my team," Reba told her fellow coaches. "I'm so glad, for the very first time we have a Coach Replay button. It's the second chance for the coaches when we realized we missed this moment."

When the camera panned back to Snoop, he was caught wiping tears from his face.

Reba is back in her red chair for the third season in a row, following her big win with Asher HaVon in season 25. She is coaching alongside Gwen Stefani, Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg.

“She’s a magnet for talent,” Snoop said of Reba. “She says all the right things… Reba Magnet-tire, that’s what we call her on the set.”

“She don’t even have to say nothing,” he continued. “Like, sometimes people just come on just to be with her.”

Reba's journey on "The Voice" began in the show's inaugural season in 2011, when she served as a battle advisor for Team Blake Shelton. Fast-forward to February of last year, and she made a triumphant return as a mega-mentor, offering invaluable advice to contestants gearing up for the intense knockout rounds.

In a twist of fate, the 68-year-old revealed in 2020 that she had actually been approached to be a coach during the first season of "The Voice." However, she turned down the opportunity, allowing Shelton to claim her spot. Now, in a role reversal, Reba has taken over Shelton's spot after he announced his retirement.

"I've been wrestling with this for a while, and I've decided that it's time for me to step away from 'The Voice' after season 23," he shared on Instagram at the time. "This show has changed my life for the better and will always feel like home to me."

"It was a top-rated show in Holland, I'm pretty sure, and I watched the tape, and I said, 'No, I'm going to pass on that,' because I don't think I could ever be able to tell somebody that they're terrible or go find another job or hope you like your nighttime job," she said during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen." "I couldn't do that day in and day out. I couldn't do it. So I did pass on it."

However, McEntire later confessed that she regretted her decision after watching the show’s immense success unfold. "After seeing a successful show that's been running, what, 15 years? Uh, yeah! I'm like, shoot; I should have done that," she added.
