Sean "Diddy" Combs' children have issued a statement addressing recent speculation surrounding the death of their late mother, Kim Porter.
Their statement comes after the release of a book about Porter, claiming there might have been foul play in the way she died.
However, the kids defended Diddy against the allegations, noting that while "it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile" how she was taken from them "too soon," there was, in fact, "no foul play" involved.
Diddy's Kids Slam Rumors Surrounding Their Mother's Death
Diddy's children have been at the center of heightened attention after their father's recent arrest.
In a rare public statement shared on their Instagram accounts, three of Diddy's kids with his late girlfriend Kim Porter, Christian, and twins Jessie and D'Lila, as well as his adopted son Quincy, have spoken up in his defense while calling for recent speculations surrounding their mom's death to stop.
The statement began, "We have seen so many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents. Kim Porter and Sean Combs' relationship. As well as about our mom's tragic passing. That we feel the need to speak out."
It comes after a 60-page book, allegedly authored by Porter, recently surfaced accusing Diddy of physically assaulting her and also engaging in "freak offs" and recorded sex sessions with some famous individuals.
Diddy's children took aim at the book in their statement, saying, "Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not, and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves. Additionally, please understand that any so-called 'friend' speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend. Nor do they have her best interests at heart."
Diddy's Kids Lament Kim Porter's Passing
The 54-year-old music mogul was in an on-and-off relationship with Porter, whom he reportedly met while working at Uptown Records, between 1994 and 2007.
Throughout their relationship, they both welcomed three of Diddy's children. Porter was already mom to Quincy, whose biological father is singer Al B. Sure! However, Diddy adopted him while he was dating the model.
Porter died in November 2018 at age 47 from lobar pneumonia after several days of "flu-like symptoms."
Diddy's children acknowledged that their "lives were shattered" by Porter's passing as she was their "world," adding that "nothing has been the same since she passed."
They continued, "While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established. There was no foul play. Grief is a lifelong process. And we ask that everyone respect our request for peace as we continue to cope with her loss every day."
The Children Are Angry That Their Mother's Death Has Been Made Into A 'Spectacle'
The children of late Porter added that they were "deeply saddened" that Porter's death has been "made a spectacle," calling it the "most tragic event" of their lives.
They noted that she "should be remembered for the beautiful, strong, kind, and loving woman she was," requesting that her "memory should not be tainted by horrific conspiracy theories."
Porter's kids rounded off the statement by saying, "We ask that everyone please respect our mother, Kim Porter, and hold her legacy in high regard so that she may rest in peace. It's what she deserves. We love you and miss you, Mommy."
In addition to the four children Diddy shared with Porter, he's also the father of three children whom he shares with three other women: son Justin and daughters Chance and Love.
Diddy Slams Kim Porter's Alleged Memoir
Meanwhile, Diddy has voiced his anger concerning the book in question from jail.
While he's currently being held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, his lawyers issued a statement on his behalf, denouncing the book as "offensive" and "shameless," per The Independent.
His attorney, Erica Wolf, said, "The Kim Porter 'memoir' is fake. It is also offensive a shameless attempt to profit from tragedy. Chris Todd has no respect for Ms. Porter or her family, who deserve better."
Wolf added, "Unlike the fabrications in his sickening 'memoir,' it is an established fact that Ms. Porter died of natural causes. May she rest in peace."
Diddy Has Spoken With His Kids
The "Finna Get Loose" rapper has reportedly spoken to his children after reports earlier claimed he was worried about their welfare.
Diddy was arrested on Monday, September 16, by Homeland Security Investigators at the Park Hyatt Hotel in New York City following a grand jury indictment and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
In the days following his arrest, he pleaded not guilty and filed a bail petition, but it has been denied twice, meaning he'll remain behind bars until his trial.
A source told People Magazine that he has "been able to speak briefly to family members and his children via phone" from jail as he awaits trial.
"He is very concerned about his kids and their well-being," the insider added. "He has three minor children, two of whom now have no living parent available with him incarcerated. Four of his seven children have neither parent available with him incarcerated."
Another source told the news outlet that Diddy's kids are "in a state of crisis and shock" following his arrest.
"It's heartbreaking to see the children in the state they're in. This is their father. But to them, he's not Diddy — he's Dad. He has always been a loving, devoted father," they shared.
