The former lovebirds reportedly accepted an offer on their stunning Beverly Hills marital home, which would have potentially sped up the property settlement in their divorce. However, the pair may have to wait a little longer if they must offload the property.

According to TMZ, a source revealed that a couple from New Jersey fell "in love" with the 38,000-square-foot property and made a $64 million offer, which the A-list stars accepted.

Unfortunately, the potential buyers reportedly suffered a death in their family and "pulled out of escrow." The insider, however, noted that they "are still interested in the property."

Affleck and Lopez paid $61 million for the house in May 2023 and spent millions on renovations.

According to the news outlet, they also had to pay a 5.25 percent mansion tax and a "hefty fee to the realtors," meaning they've invested a lot into the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom home. So, at $64 million, they'll most likely be taking some loss.

Lopez and Affleck made headlines for the better part of the summer after their marriage was said to have hit the rocks.

The "Atlas" actress then filed to divorce her husband at the Los Angeles County Superior Court on August 20, citing "irreconcilable differences."

A source has since told People Magazine that the estranged couple were never on the same page when they purchased their Beverly Hills mansion.

"The $68 million mansion was Ben's idea and a major compromise for her," a source said. "She agreed to it because of its spacious layout, accommodating both their families, a gym and a pickleball court, office space, plus it has two private entrances."

According to TMZ, Lopez and Affleck recently met with divorce attorney Laura Wasser, who is understood to be helping them mediate their "tricky" divorce proceedings.

Their divorce is said to be complicated as they didn't sign a prenuptial agreement when they got married in August 2022, meaning who gets what in their joint projects remains an issue to iron out.

Affleck's production company, Artists Equity, which he co-founded with his best friend Matt Damon after his marriage, and Lopez's cocktail brand, Delola, are among the assets up for grabs due to the couple's lack of a prenup.

However, they're reportedly opting for a more peaceful divorce for their kids, who grew fond of each other throughout their marriage.

"They want to show the kids that things are amicable," a source told People on Monday. "They want to stay friendly. There's still a lot of love."
