Sean "Diddy" Combs' ex, Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura, has yet to comment on the rapper's recent arrest.

According to reports, the "Me & U" singer is still in "pain" over the abusive relationship she had with the music mogul, a relationship that lasted from 2007 to 2018.

The sordid revelations that have come with Diddy's arrest have also only "triggered" further those emotions.

In November 2023, Cassie settled a lawsuit she filed against Diddy for an undisclosed amount just a day after filing it.

As celebrities around the world continue to react to Diddy's arrest, one notable person who has yet to share her thoughts is Cassie, the rapper's ex-girlfriend.

The two shared a relationship that lasted over a decade, ultimately ending in 2018. Last year, Cassie filed a lawsuit against the rapper, where she claimed that he subjected her to a "cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking" for the length of the relationship."

According to a source, the singer's silence amid Diddy's dilemma is intentional, as she is still in "pain" over her experience and is also "triggered" by the revelations that have come with the rapper's arrest.

"Cassie is taking time away to focus on her peace because the details of the case are triggering," said the insider, per the Daily Mail.

Can Cassie Testify In Diddy's Trial?

Just a day after Cassie filed her suit in November 2023, she reached an agreement with the rapper for an undisclosed amount of money.

However, with some of Cassie's claims from her lawsuit surfacing in the federal indictment against the rapper, many are now wondering whether an NDA, if she signed one at the time, will stop her from testifying in Diddy's trial.

An expert has claimed it won't be enforceable if federal prosecutors subpoena Cassie as a necessary witness.

"An NDA can't prevent you from testifying pursuant to a lawfully issued subpoena," former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani tells People Magazine. "And NDAs are not "enforceable in sexual assault or sexual harassment cases."

She added about the singer, "Her lawsuit is corroborated by video evidence. She's without question the best and most effective and likely the most damaging of all the witnesses against Diddy."

Diddy Assaulting Cassie Was Captured On Video

The video evidence in question refers to the 2016 footage of Combs assaulting Cassie in the hallway of a hotel.

In the video, Combs could be seen rushing out after Ventura while wearing a towel. Upon meeting her, he grabbed her by the neck and pushed her to the floor.

He then planted a violent kick on her body before turning around to grab the singer's possessions, which were just outside the elevator she had tried to escape through. After that, Combs violently kicked Ventura again and then dragged her back down the hallway by her sweatshirt.

He was later seen throwing a vase at Ventura while sitting on a chair in what appears to be the hotel room they were lodged in.

The video was released by CNN earlier in the year and quickly sparked outrage after going viral.

In a now-deleted apology video, Diddy talked about hitting rock bottom at the time of his assault on Cassie, noting that he was "f-cked" up at the time.

The rapper said, "It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was f-cked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior [in] that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now."

He continued, "I went, and I sought out professional help. Had to go into therapy. Had to go into rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to [being] a better man each and every day. And I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."

The Disgraced Rapper Was Investigated After Cassie's Lawsuit

While Cassie settling with Diddy might not have been the result many wanted, it did kick off a federal investigation into the rapper, eventually culminating in discoveries that led to charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Some of the discoveries include several incriminating videos, high-caliber weapons, and sex items related to his sexual orgies described as "Freak Offs."

They would most likely be used as exhibits during the trial, although the court has yet to set a date.

If Diddy is eventually found guilty, he might spend at least 15 years in prison or a life sentence in a worst-case scenario.

He is currently being held at the Special Housing Unit of the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York until his trial, as he failed to secure bail on two occasions.
