Allison Holker recently stepped out on the red carpet, holding hands with her new beau, tech CEO Adam Edmunds. This new relationship comes nearly two years after the heartbreaking loss of her late husband, Stephen "tWitch" Boss, who tragically passed away by suicide in a Los Angeles motel room at the age of 40.
A few weeks later, Allison Holker is speaking out about her new relationship, saying that while it's "a new experience for me to navigate this," she feels "understood."
Allison Holker Soft Launches New Relationship
Following the soft launch of her new relationship earlier this month, "So You Think You Can Dance" judge Holker made a public appearance with her new boyfriend, tech CEO Adam Edmunds, at New York Fashion Week on September 7.
"It is a new experience for me to navigate this, and it took a lot of time for me to [feel ready]. I didn't know if I'd ever fall into this situation again," Holker told People Magazine. "I will say this: I'm extremely happy. I feel supported, seen, understood, and fully loved. And I'm really, really grateful for that."
Her new relationship comes nearly two years after she lost her husband, Stephen Laurel "tWitch" Boss, to suicide.
Allison Holker Pays Tribute To tWitch
Almost a year after the heartbreaking loss of her husband, Holker made the tough choice to sell their Encino home. This decision came just before a deeply personal tribute to Boss, marking what would have been his 41st birthday in September 2023.
"We honor our beautiful, sweet, kind, and loving Stephen 'tWitch' Laurel Boss, forever on our hearts and minds carrying us, guiding us, and lifting us," she wrote alongside a collage of photos featuring herself and their three children — Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia — as they visited Boss' graveside. "We feel your presence daily and will forever be grateful for the beautiful times we shared. We feel your arms wrapping around us and holding us up today. Happy birthday my love @sir_twitch_alot."
Allison Holker Says Her New Love Does Not Outshine The Other
Holker wants people to understand—especially those experiencing their own losses—that her new love does not diminish the bond she shared with Boss.
"I understand it's an interesting place for people to see me in, and it's interesting for me to find myself in it too," she told People. "I had such a beautiful love with Stephen, and I still have such a beautiful love with him. But the love I learned has only helped me to be even better in my next love."
"I feel like I'm even more suited now in this next step in my life, this next chapter with this new, beautiful man Adam. It's only made it louder and more strong for us," Holker added. "It's not that one love outshines the other. It's just one love prepared me for the next."
Allison Holker Wants To Inspire Others
As she opens up more about her life with fans, Holker aims to inspire those grappling with feelings of guilt or loneliness to stay open to new experiences.
"Life can be really, really complicated and have a lot of ups and downs, but you can still find happiness," she told People. "What I want people to feel is that no matter what's happened in your life, you still deserve to live and be joyful and not feel shame for fulfilling that happiness."
Stephen 'tWitch' Boss Tragically Passes Away
According to sources, the 40-year-old dancer and DJ checked into a motel less than a mile from his L.A. home on the morning of December 11, 2022. Hotel staff reported that tWitch appeared calm, showed no visible signs of distress, and had only a small bag with him.
He had booked the room for just one night. When he missed his checkout time on December 12, staff went to check on him and made the heartbreaking discovery of his death from an apparent suicide. At the time, reports indicated that Holker had rushed to an LAPD station in a panic, worried after her husband left home without his car—a behavior that was completely out of character for the beloved DJ and dancer.
Soon after, police responded to a call at the Los Angeles hotel, where they sadly found tWitch dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
