‘The Masked Dancer’ Winner Gabby Douglas Talks Self-Care
Most people know Gabby Douglas as a three-time Olympic gold medalist, but the multi-talent also had time to not only compete on, but win, the first season of “The Masked Singer” spin-off show, “The Masked Dancer” where she performed as Cotton Candy.
During her time in quarantine, she’s been keeping herself busy, expanding her array of talents even further.

Staying Fit
Fans of Douglas may lament that she’s not participating in the 2021 Olympics, but staying physically fit is important to any athlete.
In order to keep herself in tip-top shape, Douglas likes to perform high-intensity interval training, also known as HIIT. She also plugs trampoline workouts as a great way to tone your muscles and have fun doing it.
“I love to sweat, so that’s when I do HIIT workouts,” she revealed. “It’s just enough for you to be active, stay in shape, and not overwork your body. I love trampoline workouts for low-impact if I’m not feeling as energetic. I just love to bounce around…I believe in having fun when you’re working out.”
Playing Guitar
Gone are the days when you have to sit down and schedule time with a music teacher in order to learn how to play a musical instrument.
Douglas decided that she wanted to learn how to play the guitar, and downloaded an app to help her do so.
“It’s going so well, but I never knew how much finger power it took to play the guitar,” she admitted. “I even have calluses on my hands.”
Rest And Relaxation
During the pandemic, Douglas found that just being outdoors in nature has been helping her maintain her mental health.
“I just stay connected and grounded with Earth and Mother Nature, because that’s where we came from, so going back to her has been beneficial and so amazing,” she shared in a recent interview.
The gymnast also does yoga in order to maintain her flexibility and stretch out her sore muscles. She also turns to meditation, especially with essential oils, as a great stress reliever.
