Nicky Hilton wasn’t thrilled when she first learned that her mother, Kathy Hilton, would be appearing on the 11th season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” in an official “friend” role.
During an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show” earlier this week, Nicky was asked about Kathy’s new position on the Bravo reality series by the actress, who used to babysit her as a kid.
“Yes, that is true,” Nicky confirmed, according to an April 22 report from Entertainment Tonight Canada.
Nicky Hilton Is A Fan Of ‘RHOBH’
When host Drew Barrymore then asked Nicky how she felt about her mother becoming a reality star.
“Drew, I’m not going to lie, I was not thrilled when I first heard about it. But I watch the show, I love the show. I think it’s hysterical. But it’s my mom,” she proclaimed.
Although Nicky has been seeing her aunt, Kyle Richards, on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” for the past 10 seasons, she was still hesitant to see her mother become part of the show.
Kathy Hilton Put Nicky’s Mind At Ease
According to Nicky, she initially worried that her mother would be tied into the drama of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and be seen fighting with her cast mates.
“You’ve seen it. The drama, the fighting — it’s a bit crazy,” Nicky stated.
However, after speaking with her mother about her new role, Nicky was assured that Kathy wouldn’t be engaging in the nastiness her cast mates sometimes take part in.
“Se has assured me that she does not curse and she does not fight. So, I said, ‘Okay, have fun!’” Nicky recalled.
Nicky Hilton Knows How Reality Shows Work
As fans of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” may have seen, Nicky and her sister, Paris Hilton, also opened up about Kathy’s “friend” role on Paris’ podcast, “This is Paris.”
“I’m not knocking the show, I love the show. I am a huge fan,” Nicky said. “But if someone were to ask me, ‘Do you want your mother on it?’ No!”
In response, Nicky’s older sister agreed with her sentiments, saying that reality shows are breeding grounds for fights amongst cast members.
Paris Hilton Doesn’t Want Her Mom Fighting On TV
“I feel like those type of shows feed off of that and they want everyone to fight and they love the drama. I just don’t want my mom having to argue with people on national television,” Paris said.
To see Hilton and her cast mates, including her sister Kyle, in the upcoming 11th season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” don’t miss the upcoming premiere of the new episodes, which is set to air on Wednesday, May 19, at 8/7c on Bravo.
