Kamala Harris is a proud gun owner, and she's not afraid to defend herself when necessary.

The current United States Vice President echoed her support for the Second Amendment during a star-studded campaign rally with Oprah Winfrey.

The Second Amendment to the Constitution protects citizens' right to bear arms, a law Kamala Harris firmly supports. She even issued a bold warning to anyone who dared test her stance.

During a sit-down with Winfrey in promotion of her presidential campaign, Harris confirmed she is a gun owner who has no qualms defending her home. She told the TV veteran:

"If somebody breaks in my house, they're getting shot ... I probably should not have said that. But my staff will deal with that later."

Despite standing by the 2nd Amendment, Harris noted that gun control measures were "common sense." She cited the concerning rise in school shootings throughout the U.S., stressing the need for gun laws to protect the community.

On that note, TMZ reported Harris shared that assault weapons like AK-style rifles had  "no place on the streets of a civil society," as they were weapons designed for war.

Harris Has Been Vocal About Being A Gun Owner

Her recent discussion with Winfrey isn't the first time Harris has revealed her status as a gun owner. During her tenure as a U.S. Senator, she confessed to owning a handgun in 2019 but refused to specify the make of the weapon for "safety reasons."

The presidential candidate echoed similar sentiments earlier this month during a presidential debate. She assured voters that she and her running mate, Tim Walz, were "not taking anybody's guns away."

Harris supported the Second Amendment and gun laws, but she also addressed other topics during her Thursday night sit-down with Winfrey. The event was a star-studded affair, with several A-listers attending virtually.

Thursday night's sit-down marked another collaboration between Harris and Winfrey. The Blast reported that the latter made a surprise appearance at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in August.

Winfrey hyped the crowd to vote for Harris while bashing Donald Trump's running mate, J.D. Vance. She mocked the latter's controversial "Childless Cat Ladies" comment while speaking about American unity.

"When a house is on fire, we don't ask about the homeowner's race or religion. We don't wonder who their partner is or how they voted. No, we just try to do the best we can to save them," Winfrey declared, adding:

"And if the place happens to belong to a childless cat lady, well, we try to get that cat out too."

Vance's infamous comment went viral after a 2021 interview resurfaced online. He bashed female politicians without children like Harris as "A bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable with their own lives and the choices they've made."

His words did not slide with Harris' stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, who shared a statement from her biological mother on her Instagram Story. Kerstin Emhoff slammed Vance's comment as "baseless," noting the VP was a fantastic parent to her children.

"How can you be 'childless' when you have cutie pie kids like Cole and I? @kemhoff say it louder for the people in the back. I love my three parents," Ella added.

Her clapback came at the heels of Jennifer Aniston's message to Vance. The "Friends" star expressed her disappointment, partly writing:

"I truly can't believe this is coming from a potential VP of the United States. All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day."

Following the "Childless Cat Ladies" drama, The Blast noted that more stars joined Harris' campaign, with Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas endorsing her days earlier. The famous siblings shared their support on X with a video.

"We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet, and our democracy," Billie declared. Meanwhile, her brother warned fans to stop "extremists" like Trump and his "dangerous project 2025 agenda."

The duo's plea to make fans join Harris' corner continued with Billie noting the significance of their votes, saying, "Vote like your life depends on it because it does." The siblings' endorsement came at the heels of Taylor Swift's support for Harris.

Will Kamala Harris win the presidential elections with her celebrity supporters, or will Donald Trump reign supreme?
