Although Ohio's government has cleared the air about the "pet-eating Haitians," Amber Rose believes Donald Trump isn't wrong.
The model, a vocal Trump supporter, doubled down on the former President's Haitian conspiracy. She claimed the immigrants in Springfield were eating pets, based on social media stories.
The "pet-eating Haitians" rumors went viral after Donald Trump made the shocking statement during a Presidential Debate. However, the government and stars like John Legend and Wyclef Jean have refuted the claims.
Amber Rose's Support For Donald Trump Is Unwavering Amid His Controversial Claims
Haitian immigrants remain the villains in Trump's campaign, with Rose telling reporters at LAX that she believed the former POTUS' claims. She backed his words with social media videos from alleged victims.
The media personality claimed that she had seen videos of people alleging their pets were taken and eaten by Haitian immigrants in Ohio. She further stressed that cats and dogs were a staple on menus in some Haitian families.
TMZ noted that some people believed Trump's controversial statement stemmed from racism. However, Rose defended him, saying: "That is not racist when something is true and people are saying it online."
John Legend Disputed The 'Pet-Eating Haitians' Claim In A Plea For Unity
Following Trump's "pet-eating Haitians" comment, The Blast reported that John Legend shut down the narrative with a plea for unity. He implored fans to ignore the presidential candidate's racism, stressing:
"Nobody's eating cats. Nobody's eating dogs. We all just want to live and flourish and raise our families in a healthy and safe environment. How about we love one another?"
"I grew up in the Christian tradition. We said to love our neighbor as we love ourselves and treat strangers as though they might be Christ," Legend continued, advocating for peace and love.
"So how about we adopt that ethos when we talk about immigrants moving to our communities and don't spread hateful, xenophobic, racist lies about them," he implored fans in his Instagram video.

Legend addressed the controversy not as a celebrity but as a native of Springfield, Ohio. He claimed the town experienced a large influx of Haitian immigrants after it had been "shrinking for decades."
"So when I was there, we had upwards of 75,000 people, and in the last 5 years, we were down to, like, 60,000 people," Legend explained, claiming that President Joe Biden's administration sparked an increase in jobs and opportunities but not enough people to fill those roles.
To solve this, the federal government allegedly granted visas to Haitian immigrants, allowing them to escape the "upheaval and turmoil in Haiti." Legend noted these people entered the country legally and met the demand in Springfield for additional labor.
Wyclef Jean Slams Trump's Claims As A Fellow Haitian
Legend's response to the "pet-eating Haitians" rumors came at the heels of Haitian-born rapper Wyclef Jean's comments. He addressed Trump's claims from a personal stance, reflecting on his family's chance to experience the "American Dream."
"I speak from the heart when I say Haitian people living in the U.S. are good neighbors and good people. We care about humanity. We care about our neighbors," Jean claimed, adding:
"On behalf of Haitian Americans, I ask that we stop these racist messages and accusations. Put our hands out in peace and say thanks for being my neighbor."
The "Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)" rapper further slammed Trump by imploring people to vote based on facts instead of "crazy talk." Ohio's government echoed similar sentiments about the former president's claims.
Ohio Leaders Shut Down Donald Trump's Allegations
Trump's "pet-eating Haitians" conspiracy was dispelled by Ohio's government, with Governor Mike DeWine noting: "This is something that came up on the internet, and the internet can be quite crazy sometimes."
Springfield Mayor Rob Rue similarly bashed Trump's claims as false, stressing: "We have not been able to verify any credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community." The mayor added:
"The news story regarding a cat being killed or consumed did not originate in Springfield. It actually involved a Canton woman who was arrested for animal cruelty last month."
Will Donald Trump and his supporters continue to spread the "pet-eating Haitians" conspiracy?
