Lady Gaga's Father Backs 'Pure' Donald Trump For President, Labels Him 'A Patriot'

Lady Gaga's father, Joseph Germanotta, has publicly endorsed Donald Trump ahead of the November elections, a stand that's different from his daughter's well-documented liberal views.
Germanotta said he endorses Trump's policies and claimed that his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris, "is just going to say whatever she needs to say to get elected."
Lady Gaga, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has yet to reveal which of the contenders she supports.
Lady Gaga's Father Endorses 'Pure' Donald Trump
In Thursday's episode of Fox News' "Fox & Friends," Germanotta endorsed Trump ahead of his November showdown with Harris, describing the former president as "pure" and "a patriot."
"They're two vastly different people," Gaga's father said of Trump and Harris. "One of them is pure, and he's a patriot. The other is just going to say whatever she needs to say to get elected. That's basically what I hear, and I'm tired of hearing about her neighbors' lawn."
According to the news outlet, a recent poll showed that the Democratic candidate is edging Trump by 2 points in the seven crucial battleground states that determined the outcome of the 2020 election, which saw President Biden edge Trump and will likely determine the winner of the 2024 election.
Despite the difference, the billionaire politician maintained more favor among voters regarding who they trust to handle top issues and scored five points ahead of Harris when it comes to the economy.
"Six years ago, I was going to have the best year we ever had at Joanne before COVID. And when I say best year, it was 25% more than any other year," Germanotta shared.
Lady Gaga's Father Thinks Immigration Is An Issue
According to the news outlet, the polls also showed that 50% of voters think Trump is a better candidate to make the country safer, and 54% favor him for immigration, which Germanotta also supports.
The New York City restauranteur weighed in on the Bidden-Harris immigration policy, calling it "an invasion," as he can see it.
"We don't have secure borders anymore. There's no more legal immigration. My clientele, my customers, the ones that used to come once a week, now they come once every three weeks. They're not coming to New York City," he explained.
However, Germanotta maintained that his endorsement of Trump is based on the Republican party candidate's policy, not personality.
"The real foundation, I'm not voting for people. I mean, look, Donald, he's abrasive. But he's a patriot and his policies are there," Lady Gaga's father stated. "They're on target for me anyway. I'm into low fuel and food prices, low interest rates, pro-police, good economy, pro-police... law and order... keep the jobs here in the United States."
Lady Gaga Usually Supports Democrats
Germanotta's political views are in stark contrast to those of his famous daughter, who endorsed current president Joe Biden in 2020.
Although she hasn't publicly endorsed any candidates for this election, the "Bloody Mary" singer endorsed the Bidden-Harris campaign at the eleventh hour in 2020.
She also performed at the incumbent's inauguration in January 2021, delivering a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.
Gaga also recently liked Taylor Swift's post endorsing Kamala Harris, insinuating she may still be leaning toward the Democratic party for the 2024 elections.
Celebrities Divided Over Donald Trump And Kamala Harris
Meanwhile, some other A-list stars have thrown their weight behind either Trump or Harris.
SpaceX boss Elon Musk, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, country singer Kid Rock, and media personality Amber Rose are among those supporting the former president.
However, Celebrities like Taylor Swift, Sharon Stone, Mark Cuban, and George Clooney have all shown support for Harris in some way.
Clooney and Trump were recently embroiled in a standoff after the actor wrote a viral op-ed in the New York Times asking Biden to step down to give the Democratic party a real chance at defeating Trump.
"So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act," Trump wrote on Truth Social at the time, per Variety. "He's turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are. What does Clooney know about anything?… Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!"
In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel's late-night talk show, Clooney clapped back at Trump, saying, "I will if he does. That's a trade-off I'd do."
Lady Gaga Is Currently Promoting Her Upcoming Movie, 'Joker: Folie à Deux'
While her father shows support for Trump, Lady Gaga has remained silent on politics, instead opting to focus on promoting her new film, "Joker: Folie à Deux."
The actress and singer stars as Harley Quinn in the musical sequel to the 2019 film "Joker," which grossed over a billion dollars at the box office.
In a featurette, Gaga talked about her experience working on the film, noting that "It was a very special experience" and that she "had never seen a world created like that before."
"It brought out all of that rough and tough energy and how big these dreams were, and how far they would fall," Gaga added, per People Magazine.
