Do you remember Lil Tay?

Back in 2018, Lil Tay emerged on the social media scene as a foul-mouthed 9-year-old who began a campaign of flashing fancy cars and stacks of cash before being exposed as a fraud who was acting out scenarios set up by her mother. What followed was a bitter custody fight between her parents and the social media star ended up signing off and going to live with her father as a regular child.

Although Lil Tay has been gone from the public eye for a few years, her social media accounts have remained active and this week an ominous message was posted that has everyone hoping Lil Tay is doing okay.

Although her last official post is back in 2018, a message appeared on Lil Tay's Instagram Stories on Wednesday with only a single line of troubling text.

"we have bad news about tay..." the message stated.

There was no other information given, and after 6 hours of being live there has not yet been a follow up.

In the wake of the mystery, fans are remembering Lil Tay and praying that nothing bad has happened to the young star.

"Noo. I hope Tay is ok. She had 2018 in a headlock. Pls be ok lil tay," one fan tweeted.

"we all haven’t heard anything about lil tay for 3 years but this comes up?" another person wrote.

Lil Tay was the talk of the Internet when she burst onto the scene in 2018 alongside fellow social media star Woah Vicky. Tay became amassed a huge following for her foul-mouthed rants and quickly rose to over 1.5 million followers on Instagram.

It was then exposed that Lil Tay's videos and lifestyle was set up by her mother, Angela Tia, a successful real estate agent in Vancouver who was using her boss' cars and homes as props in her daughter's videos.

The Blast

Lil Tay's father soon entered the public picture and made it clear that he wanted his daughter to have a normal life.

"I do regret not being able to fight past the other people in her life, who did not want me to be a part of her life, in the last while," Christopher Hope told The Blast back in 2019 after making a move for custody of Lil Tay.

He added, "I felt I had to step in this year because I felt it was my responsibility to try to keep her safe and keep her future from being ruined by people who just want to make money from her."

Lil Tay left social media for good shortly after the murder of XXXTentacion, who was a friend of the young IG star.

"X you truly changed me ❤️ you were there for me when everyone wanted me to fail, you were there to give me advice, you were there," Tay wrote on Instagram after the rapper was killed in Florida.

Tay added, "As a father figure, when I don’t have one, you were here, FaceTiming me and calling me for hours when I’m down."
