Kesha Shades Diddy With Proposed 'TiK ToK' Lyric Change Following His Arrest

The change Kesha promised in her 2010 hit song is nearly here, but the singer wastes no time giving Diddy the middle finger amid his incarceration.
The embattled rapper is behind bars following his arrest and indictment on three criminal charges. However, his holding cell will probably be blasting with Kesha's upcoming rendition of her hit "TiK ToK" song.
Kesha has been teasing the lyric change for months after first shading Diddy during a performance with Reneé Rapp at Coachella. She also promised an official rendition in a powerful tweet last month.
Kesha Teases Her New Version Of 'TiK ToK' Amid Diddy's Arrest
What better way to announce the lyric change in her viral song than dropping it on its namesake platform? Kesha shared a video of herself with friends vibing to the teaser of her new "TiK ToK" song on TikTok.
The song's opening lyrics went, "Wake up in the morning feeling f-ck P. Diddy," instead of its original "Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy." Kesha doubled down on her shade by captioning the video with a middle finger emoji.
The post received over two million likes from fans and thousands of comments supporting the lyric change. "I wasn't expecting this, but I'm here for it," a TikTok user penned.
"Mother is correcting and teaching," another echoed, while a third implored her to make the change official, writing, "Hey Kesha babe, can we get this version put on Spotify, please, 'cause this is one of my favorite songs."
Kesha Vowed To Make The Lyric Change Permanent
The singer-songwriter first announced her plans to remake "TiK ToK" in August, with The Blast reporting that she dropped the news on X. While celebrating the song's 15th anniversary, she declared:
"I absolutely love the new lyric change. (Shout out to @reneerapp) Yes, it is permanent. I will re-record it when I have legal rights to!"
"Now, my first baby stands for so much. It stands for fiercely protecting my fun and unadulterated joy, in myself and in others," Kesha explained, revealing it was the first song she released that her name and voice credited.
"I remember making it fun and happy because that's how I felt and wanted others to feel. What I'm so proud of is that's how this song STILL makes me feel through it all, and those are emotions I want all of us to connect to," she claimed.
The Song Immortalized A Part Of The Singer
While reflecting on the song's growth, Kesha penned: "15 (!!!!!!) years later, I see this song as a snapshot into the way I saw the world at the time. That girl was naive and wild and playful."
"This song eternalizes a side of myself that I love very much, and now see I have to protect fiercely," she continued, noting that removing Diddy's homage was the best way to protect "TiK ToK."
Kesha stressed that she wanted the song to remain special to fans amid the rapper's sexual assault lawsuits, writing: "The world has changed so much, and so have I. The whole ride has been absolute insanity, but the JOY is still riding."
Diddy Doubles His Efforts To Secure Bail
Kesha's rendition teaser of "TiK ToK" comes at the heels of Diddy's desperate efforts to be released on bail. The Blast shared that his legal reps offered a new deal to the court after their $50 million offer was rejected.
In his new offer, the music mogul vowed that the security company responsible for logging all visitors at his Miami Beach home would hand over the information to the government nightly.
Diddy's legal reps claimed he would limit visitors to family, property caretakers, and friends not listed as co-conspirators in the federal indictment. The contact limitations seemed to be their way of addressing the court's concern about witnesses' safety.
The bail offer reassured the court that the rapper would not contact or intimidate any woman involved in the case or known grand jury witnesses. Diddy also promised to restrict female visitors to family members like the mothers of his children.
Diddy Agreed To Submit To Drugs Tests
Diddy's efforts to secure bail did not end with the contact limitations, as he agreed to submit to weekly drug tests. This offer stemmed from the drug allegations in the federal indictment.
The Bad Boy Records founder was accused of fueling his "Freak Off" sex parties with cocaine, ketamine, GHB, MDMA (Ecstasy), and other narcotics. The feds also claimed they found drugs in his New York City hotel room when he was arrested on Monday.
As for his initial $50 million offer, Diddy planned to pay the hefty sum with his second offer if released on bail. He remains behind bars at MDC Brooklyn and will stay there until his trial begins unless a judge rules differently.
