Lamar Odom Talks ‘Kardashian Curse'

Lamar Odom is sick and tired of the “Kardashian Curse” idea that has been floating around Hollywood for over a decade now. Odom, who was married to Khloe Kardashian from 2009 to 2016 shut down the idea that he has been cursed by his relationship with Kardashian. “That's stupidity,” said Odom. 

“Because everybody goes through s***, you dumbasses.” The 41-year-old shared more during an interview with VladTV including how the reality show played a role in the demise of his marriage.

"If I had your family on tape and see all the s*** your family was going through, people would be like, 'This f***ing family is crazy!' People would see all the drug addicts, all the sex, they share their life with you, so you see everything." The former Lakers player spent the entirety of his marriage to Kardashian on camera in their spinoff show Khloe and Lamar.  While Odom went along with the filming and was happy to do so, there were a lot of sketchy things happening behind the camera including his serious struggle with drugs.

He has in the past and continues to this day to defend his ex-wife and Good America designer for protecting his privacy and keeping what she could off the reality show. He is forever grateful for the family as well. “I know in some ways it's the reason why I'm still relevant to this day,” Odom said. “Cause I'm not playing ball no more. Ain't no more highlights on me no more. The looks that I still get is due to… a lot of it is because of the love that they gave me ... And f**k anybody that goes against that.”

Odom publicly apologized to Kardashian and her family back in 2019 referring to her as a “queen” and reprimanding himself for the way he treated her. The former NBA player is not the only partner to be accused of being affected by this mysterious “Kardashian Curse”. Fans have long accused rapper Kanye West of drinking the Kool-Aid when is comes to estranged wife Kim Kardashian. They are even more adamant now that West has had several public breakdowns and is officially getting a divorce from Kardashian after over five years of marriage.

Scott Disick is another Kardashian ex that has fallen into the alleged “cursed” category. While Disick has gone on to date a handful of other women after his relationship with ex Kourtney Kardashian ended, he had a period that was documented on Keeping up With The Kardashians where he was drinking a lot and essentially having a breakdown on TV. Disick is yet to come out and share his thoughts on the curse but chances are his thoughts will be similar to Odom’s.
