Nicola Coughlan Teased In Tight 'Christmas Turkey Dress' At Emmys

Nicola Coughlan opted for metallics in a jazzy silver dress at last night's Emmy Awards, and it looks like she was an instant target for trolls. The Bridgerton star proved her A-lister status as she joined the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Selena Gomez on the red carpet on Sunday, showing off her curvy figure in a stunning but unusual dress. Turning heads in custom-made Prabal Gurung, the Irish actress popped in a long dress covered in shimmering sequins, making headlines for her style choice and being interrupted on the red carpet. When The Daily Mail shared Nicola's reaction to passers-by blocking her photo ops, users grabbed the opportunity to comment.

Channeling the disco ball style recently modeled by singer Jennifer Lopez in her TIFF "revenge dress," the TV star wore a peplum waist accentuating her figure, plus a longer column skirt beneath.

Contrasting her sharp shoulder detailing with soft makeup, Nicola showed off her flawless complexion via matte foundation, adding champagne-colored eyeshadow blending into orange shades and a lick of mascara. The SKIMS face, who made her debut for Kim Kardashian's brand earlier this year, wore her hair mostly tied back and with a diamante clip adding yet more sparkle.

Unfortunately, Nicola's attempts to pose for photos were interrupted by individuals constantly passing in front of the cameras. Here, Nicola struck a few "oops" faces, looking rather sweet and humble as she waited for them to pass. Noting the awkward interruptions, one fan gained likes for saying: "THIS is rude. And NC comes out very sweet and humble." Others, however, went right for the dress.

Gaining likes, another fan replied: "She looks like the Christmas turkey wrapped in tin foil, She looks ridiculous." Also shading Nicola's style, a third added: "But what on earth was she wearing? People walking in front restricting photos probably did her a favor..!!!"

"They were helping her hide the hideous dress. Who made her wear that monstrosity? Not AT ALL flattering" was yet another damning remark.

Nicola's humbleness melted fans all over again when she revealed being super nervous about attending the star-studded night.

"I was terrified. I arrived, I looked to my left and Jennifer Aniston was there. I thought it was fine, but it was Jennifer Aniston. It was crazy. I don’t know what to do about it," she told E! News, adding: "I’m like, ‘No, stop! It’s too much!’ It’s crazy. It’s amazing. I love it!"
