Margaret Josephs Nearly Joined ‘RHONJ’ For Season Six, Talks Siggy Flicker Feud

Margaret Josephs joined the cast of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” during its eighth season in 2017 but according to a new interview, it wasn’t the first time she was approached for a position on the Bravo reality series. In fact, she could have joined the show two years prior if she hadn’t turned it down.

While chatting with Hollywood Lifelast week, Josephs confirmed that after being contacted by executives behind the series, she informed them that she was not interested because she was filming another show, titled “Marge in Charge,” at the time.

“It was season six. And because I had prior obligations for a different show, which I discuss in the book [that never transpired], I couldn’t do it,” Josephs recalled. 

As fans of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” may know, Josephs released her first book, "Caviar Dreams, Tuna Fish Budget: How to Survive in Business and Life," earlier this month. 

“It was just, you know, it just wasn’t meant to be and timing is everything,” she continued. “It wasn’t the right timing. And obviously, I didn’t get my own show."

According to Josephs, her show with her mom didn't work out and eventually, Bravo reached back out. 

"[It] never happened. Then, that contract expired, and when [‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’] had come back to me, it worked out perfectly," she recalled. 

Looking back, Josephs admitted that if things hadn't played out the way they did, things likely would have worked out much differently not only with her life, but also with the cast.

"Maybe they wouldn’t have had Amber and [her husband] Jim [as part of the cast], or maybe — I don’t know. I just think I was on at the right time. I don’t think I would have interacted very well with them," she explained

When Josephs was then asked why Siggy Flicker was so against her during their first scene together, Josephs said she didn't go along with the role Flicker likely wanted for her.

"I think she was thinking that I would be more of a sidekick for her, and be like her. But you know what, I think we’re just such different people. And I don’t think she was used to having anyone challenge her," Josephs stated. "We’re two different people. So I think she was shocked that I even answered her back or, you know, commented to her. "

"And so that upset her immediately and put her on the defensive. I’m authentically myself, and she likes to put on something that’s not very real. I know the real Siggy just from being around town. So I think that frightened her a little bit. I knew the truth," Josephs continued of Flicker.
