Paris Hilton has revealed that her 2003 sex tape leak left her traumatized. The socialite and heiress has been addressing her past in light of the "Framing Britney Spears" documentary released in February, with the 40-year-old opening up on Vanity Fair's Cocktail Hour. In 2003, Paris' then-boyfriend Rick Salomon leaked hotel room sex footage of the former couple, with "1 Night in Paris" going on to tarnish the blonde's reputation. "The Simple Life" star has now shed fresh light on the matter. See it below.

Hilton began by referencing the Hulu-released "Framing Britney Spears" documentary about 39-year-old pop princess Britney Spears, stating: "Just after seeing the Britney documentary, my heart was broken. Watching all of that brought up a lot of memories for myself, and just the way we were treated was so wrong."

Also addressed was how high-profile stars are treated by the media.

"Because we were in the public eye we were made to be these villains...It's such an amazing time right now that people are looking back at that and seeing it was all of these really misogynistic views."

Hilton then addressed the sex tape, one that was filmed in 2001, released in 2003, and plugged to NBC with a longer version in Februrary 2004. Calling it "humiliating," and something that "will hurt me for the rest of my life," Paris added:

“It’s always there in the back of my mind. When it happened, people were so mean about it to me. The way that I was spoken about on nightly talk shows and the media, to see things with my family was just heartbreaking."

Paris was just 20 years old when Rick, 13 years her senior, made the tape. He struck a deal with porn studio Red Light District Video to sell an even longer and 45-minute version. Salomon was reported to be paying Paris $400,000 plus a back-end profit percentage.

"I would be in tears every single day, I didn’t want to leave my house, I felt like my life was over," Paris confessed: “It was a private experience between two people," she added.

"You love someone, you trust someone and to have your trust betrayed like that and for the whole world to be watching and laughing … It was even more hurtful to me to have these people think that I did this on purpose — that killed me.” Paris told Vanity Fair: “It still gives me post-traumatic stress disorder to talk about it.”

Paris then noted other celebrities releasing sex tapes around that time, saying she felt the trend was affording her a "blueprint to be famous" vibe. Also notorious for her 2000s sex tape is makeup mogul Kim Kardashian.
