A Bittersweet Experience
A PA would not only plan your schedule and make sure that you have the time for other things, they would also help to shield you from bad situations. For a celebrity like Frankel, there would definitely have been bad days.
This is all and more that McMinn had to do for Frankel and she did it well, to the best of her knowledge.
While speaking with David Yontef in his podcast called “Behind The Velvet Rope,” McMinn mentioned that working for her former boss was both challenging and inspiring.
‘We Were Like A Little Family’- McMinn
She went on to say that everyone counted on each other to make sure that the daily business ran smoothly without any hiccups.
Truly, there were hiccups at some points, but they all came together like a family to work through difficulties.
McMinn saw the TV personality and her boss through two of her amazing shows titled “Bethenny Getting Married” and “Bethenny Ever After.”
However, she decided to take a step back to let someone else continue with the work.
“... I decided to leave because I was spent/ I think I had done as much as I could,” she said to Yontef.
McMinn’s Biggest Challenges
Aa the conversation continued, McMinn also disclosed her biggest challenges while working for Frankel. She mentioned that there were days when she did not get things right and this sent the star into a spiraling mode.
She went on to say that her biggest stressor, was that there was no Uber, compared to now that assistants have it easy.
She said that getting transportation when it was raining was a major hiccup in her line of work. This is because Frankel would most likely be all dolled up and have somewhere to go.
“My job would be so much easier if there was Uber. That was really tough,” McMinn said.
A Work Friendship
Some people say that stars become very close with their personal assistants because they’re the ones they call on every time they need something.
Over the years, McMinn went from being an assistant, to a good friend. Although she quit her job with the 50-year-old, they’ll remain good friends and keep in touch.
In 2018, during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Frankel said she still keeps in touch with all her assistants and some have even come back to work with her.
