In the days following the passing of Prince Philip, the British royal family and the whole world celebrated the family patriarch and his iconic role in the royal household and the world at large.
As the family prepares to pay their last respects on Saturday, the royals are flying in from all corners of the world, reuniting with the monarch members.
Notable among the royals flying back home is Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, as he left California’s sunny shores to share the moment with his family in the first reunion in over a year.
The First Family
After arriving in London on Sunday, the Prince, who has been home for only a few days, is spending time in quarantine in respect of the COVID-19 guidelines.
The Duke is said to be observing quarantine in his former residence at Frogmore Cottage.
However, as reported by Page Six, Harry seems to have reunited with one member of the family, his cousin Princess Eugenie, the 31-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson.
Although it’s unclear when the two reunited, it came as no surprise that Eugenie was the first family member Harry came in contact with.
Counting The Days
After Harry, his spouse Meghan Markle, and their two-year-old son, Archie, relocated to the US after their controversial exit as working royals, they decided to leave behind their home to make a new one.
The Frogmore cottage became home to Princess Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank and their newborn son, August, born in February. The reunion will mean that it’s the first time Prince Harry is meeting his nephew, August.
According to Royal expert Katie Nicholl who informed Entertainment Tonight on Monday, a day after Harry arrived back home that the royal will self-isolate and will meet Queen Elizabeth II very soon.
Old Wounds Heal
As referred to in the exclusive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry had a close relationship with his grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philips.
Nicholl told the publication that, understandably, the Queen would be Harry’s first point of call as soon as he is fit to mingle.
She continued that despite the internal rift in the royal family that the interview might have flamed, the Duke of Sussex is excited to see his family members again. She again added that the reunion would be an emotional one as Prince Harry separated from the royal family for over a year.
The Last Respect
As the family is set to meet again after a long year, Nicholl revealed that many people think the family might be able to forgive all misunderstandings, get back on the mend and fix the rift between the two royal brothers, William and Harry.
The funeral celebrating the life and legacy of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who died “peacefully” on April 9 at the old age of 99, will be done in a small service on Saturday held at St. George’s Chapel.
As part of the procession, Willam and Harry and their father, Prince Charles, will walk behind the casket on its way to its final resting place, mirroring what they did after Princess Diana’s untimely death.
