The 32-year-old Disney Channel alum sat down with People Magazine ahead of the release of her new documentary "Child Star," where she shared that the most important thing in her life right now isn’t fame or fortune—it’s the people who stand by her through it all.

"What makes me happy and brings me peace now are the relationships in my life. I'm an introvert, but I do love to co-regulate with people that are really important to me," Demi said. "First and foremost, my fiancé, but my best friends, my family, my dogs."

She added, "I value and I cherish love so much in my life. It means more to me than anything because that's really truly what life is about: love."

One of those relationships that she looks to for support is with her fiancé, Canadian songwriter Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes.

"I try to spend as much time with the people that are important to me as I can because careers and experiences, those are fleeting, but relationships and family and friends, those relationships are here to stay," Demi added. "It's all about connection and spending time with loved ones."

Her engagement with Jutes came five years after she overdosed and nearly died.
