In mid-February, Kim Kardashian officially filed paperwork for divorce from Kanye West. It was initially revealed at the top of the year that the divorce would be coming but the paperwork had not yet been worked on at the time. Kim did hire high-profile divorce attorney, Laura Wasser, though. Kim and Kanye have since been discussing things such as joint custody and settlements regarding personal assets, etc. Now, Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, has some advice for her during this time. 

Kris recently spoke with Wall Street Journal’s The One as one topic discussed was Kim’s divorce with Kanye. One piece of advice that she gives her daughter is that their four children come first in this situation.

“I think the most important thing I learned through my experience, both of my experiences, is that the kids come first. If you keep that in the front of your mind and know that they are going to get you through, the love is going to get you through, you know, no matter how much you’re hurting,”

Kris also explained how during her divorce from Robert Kardashian, it took an emotional toll on her. She even went as far as revealing that she would cry herself to sleep. She didn’t want her children to see what she was going through emotionally, though. 

“I used to put everybody to bed, and then I would be upset or go to my room and cry myself to sleep. But I didn’t want to have a pity party in front of the kids.”

A few days ago, TMZ reported that Kanye is looking to have joint and physical custody of he and Kim’s children. This is something that both had initially agreed upon. This is after they discussed how they wanted to each co-parent. Spousal support won’t be an issue at all either as the two are each very successful and supposedly aren’t seeking any material gain from each other in their divorce. Kanye did come out and say that each of them should pay their own legal fees, though.

Things got very crazy in July 2020 between Kim and Kanye after Ye revealed during his South Carolina presidential rally that the two supposedly discussed getting an abortion in 2012. That same month, Kanye planned to released his new “Donda” album but that didn’t happen when it came time for the midnight release. Since then, there still hasn’t been a new release date but he did win a Grammy last month for his 2019 “Jesus Is King” album. The category was for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
