Dave Grohl reportedly hired a divorce attorney before making the shocking revelation that he had stepped out on his wife of 21 years, Jordyn Blum, and fathered a child out of wedlock.

While the singer expressed love for his family and vowed to regain their trust, the identity of the child's mother remains unknown.

Shortly after Dave Grohl's announcement, two of his daughters deactivated their Instagram accounts.

The Foo Fighters frontman reportedly hired a divorce attorney after 21 years of marriage to Blum, with whom he shares three daughters, Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.

According to People Magazine, the exact timing and cause of his seeking legal representation are unknown; however, he already hired one before his announcement on Tuesday, September 10.

Grohl shared on his Instagram page that he had fathered a child outside his marriage, stating, "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her."

While expressing his deep love for his wife and children, Grohl acknowledged the need to work hard to "regain their trust and earn their forgiveness."

"We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together," he added.

The identity of the woman with whom Grohl shares the child has not been revealed as of this writing.

Fans quickly took to social media to share their reactions to Grohl's revelation of his extramarital affair.

Less than an hour after Grohl revealed he had fathered a child outside of his marriage, his daughters, Violet, with nearly 250,000 followers on Instagram, and Harper, with over 40,000 followers, appeared to have deactivated their Instagram profiles, though it is unclear if it was over the baby drama.

Just two months before welcoming his fourth daughter with an unidentified woman, Grohl and Blum were seen looking happy during their last public appearance.

The couple was spotted at Wimbledon in London on July 2, where they enjoyed the women's singles first-round match from the Royal Box alongside other celebrities.

Throughout the event, the longtime couple chatted, laughed, and cheered, though they refrained from any public display of affection.

For the game, Grohl sported a sharp navy blue suit paired with a white collared shirt, a gold-patterned tie, and tan Dolce & Gabbana dress shoes.

Meanwhile, Blum opted for a chic periwinkle outfit featuring a pleated, tea-length skirt. She accessorized with a cream-colored handbag and matching peep-toe heels and styled her blonde hair in a low braid. Both completed their looks with sleek black sunglasses.

Blum first crossed paths with Grohl at a bar in West Hollywood, California, in 2001.

In a 2007 interview with Elle, the rockstar shared a story about their early relationship, stating: "When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates, and I decided that I wasn't ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling."

Three months later, he had a change of heart and decided to call her again.

"She picked up the phone and said, 'Oh, I never thought I'd hear from you again,'" Grohl recalled.

After nearly two years of dating, the couple exchanged vows on August 2, 2003, at their Los Angeles home, and just last month, they celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary.

In June, Grohl was heavily criticized for making shady comments about singer Taylor Swift during his band's concert at the London Stadium.

Video clips from the event showed Grohl making quips about the "Bad Blood" hitmaker and hinting that she does not perform live.

"I tell you, man, you don't want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift," the rock star noted to the large crowd, per Consequence.

He continued, "So we like to call our tour the 'Errors Tour.' We've had more than a few eras and more than a few f-cking errors as well. Just a couple."

Grohl then took a direct jab at Swift, stating, "That's because we actually play live. What? Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock 'n' roll music, right? You came to the right f-cking place."

Since the incident, Grohl has not directly addressed his comments or apologized to Swift.
