NFL Star Reggie Bush Foils Burglary Attempt At His L.A. Mansion

The list of celebrities getting burglarized in L.A. nearly got a new member named Reggie Bush.

The former professional football running back almost got burglarized on Tuesday, September 10; however, his quick response stopped the thieves. He is one of the few stars who took matters into their own hands before authorities arrived.

Months before Reggie Bush's encounter with foiling a home invasion, Chet Hanks made waves for fighting off a burglar. Unfortunately, he wasn't there to stop his famous parents' home from getting robbed in August.

According to sources, thieves targeted Bush's Encino mansion around 11 PM on Tuesday. At least one person was believed to have smashed the window at the former athlete's home, but they could not cause further damage.

The noise convinced Bush that there was trouble at his pad, and he thwarted the break-in by screaming for help. Following his cries, the suspect or suspects fled the area and were long gone by the time authorities arrived.

Cops reportedly found broken glass near the rear entry of the house, but it remains unclear if anything was stolen before Bush scared the thieves away. Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident, and an investigation has officially begun.

The NFL star bought the L.A. mansion for $5.65 million in 2019, per TMZ. It came with an alarm system and surveillance cameras, plus it was walled and gated off. However, these state-of-the-art features did not stop the burglars from accessing Bush's home.

Bush may want to take lessons from Chet regarding warding off burglars. The Blast shared in November that the media personality thwarted a robbery attempt with his fists!

He reportedly delivered a powerful punch to the burglar and kept him at the scene before deputies from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department arrived at his home. Unfortunately, the situation went badly for officers when a struggle ensued.

One deputy sustained a broken leg during the arrest, while Chet emerged from the incident unscathed. The injured officer and the suspect were transported to the hospital for treatment before the culprit was slapped with burglary charges.

While Bush and Chet managed to stop their home invasions, it was a different story for Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. The Blast reported that the famous couple were out of town when thieves invaded their L.A. property.

Unlike the other robberies that have happened to celebrities, the burglars did not access the couple's primary home but a guest house. They broke into the place by smashing a window; however, it was unclear what they took.

Authorities could not estimate if anything was missing or how much the items were worth until Tom and his wife returned home and took inventory. The home invasion reportedly happened in broad daylight, but insiders claimed the couple weren't targeted.

The burglary appeared to be the work of one of the many crews in the L.A. area stealing at will. Before Chet's parents were robbed, stars like Bhad Bhabie, Sarah Hyland, and Marlon Wayans, among others, were victims of home invasions.

Ten months before his encounter with burglars, Bush's concern was giving his son a fresh start. Court documents obtained by The Blast revealed that he and his wife, Lilit Avagyan, moved to change their third child's name legally.

The couple petitioned the court to change the spelling of their son's name from "Agyemang Bush" to "Agyeman Bush." They cited only their desire to remove the "g" as their reason for the change, which surprisingly came six years after the boy's birth.

Bush and Avagyan kept their son's conception a secret, with news of the pregnancy arriving months before his birth. At the time, the former NFL player's wife flaunted her baby bump in a since-deleted post on Instagram.

Before falling in love with his wife, Bush had his fair share of failed romances. He enjoyed a highly-publicized relationship with reality TV queen Kim Kardashian in 2007 before their bond ended two years later.

In 2010, the former athlete was rumored to be in a romantic relationship with country singer Jesse James before Avagyan danced her way into his heart a year later. The couple dated for two years, during which they welcomed their daughter Briseis.

In 2014, Bush and Avagyan walked down the aisle in an intimate ceremony at The Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego, California. Surprisingly, Kardashian's step-brother, Sam Brody Jenner, attended the event.

While Reggie Bush enjoys a blossoming relationship with his wife and three children, he may want to beef up his security system to avoid another break-in.
