Courtney Stodden just made a big announcement on social media as they strive to be open and honest in their life, and revealed something that has been weighing down on their chest for some time.

The model and social media influencer took to Instagram late Tuesday evening with a bombshell reveal by announcing to their near 300,000 followers that they identify as a non-binary person.

"They/them/theirs. I don’t Identify as she or her. I’ve never felt like I ever fit in anywhere," Courtney Stodden wrote in her post.

Writing about their experiences dealing with gender and bullying throughout their life, 26-year-old Stodden added:

"I was bullied horribly in school because I was different. The other girls never understood me. It got so bad that my mom pulled me out of school. And still, i don’t fit in."

As for what exactly non-binary means ... non-binary gender identity is a term used to describe individuals who may experience a gender identity that is neither exclusively man or woman, or is somewhere on the spectrum between both genders and even beyond.

Stodden ended their message by explaining, "I never really connected with anyone my age. My spirit is fluid with a kaleidoscope of color."

As for finally being able to freely discuss how they feel in the world, Courtney Stodden is liberated and joyful over being honest.

When asked by The Blast what sparked the need to come forward with their message, Stodden replied:

"I felt trapped hiding under what everyone has always seen. Or Thought they seen - a super feminine blonde. But I’m so much more underneath the misconceptions. Non-binary is the future."
