Paris Hilton reacted to the recent confirmation of her mother Kathy Hilton's "friend" role on the upcoming 11th season of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" during the latest episode of her podcast, "This is Paris."
On the heels of Monday's cast announcement and trailer release, Paris revealed that when she initially approached her mother with questions about her potential role on the Bravo reality series, Kathy denied any involvement.
"My mom, when we first found out about it, she was like, 'No, I'm not doing it,'" Paris admitted, according to a report from E! News on April 12.
Kathy Hilton Didn't Initially Cop To The 'RHOBH' Role
According to Paris, Kathy was "basically" lying to her and her sister, Nicky Hilton, when they asked her if she would be featured on the upcoming episodes of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
"She was just like, not telling us the truth basically," Paris shared.
As Paris explained, she and Nicky were simply concerned about their mother because they were well aware of the drama that typically comes with a role on a reality series and didn't want to see her in harm's way.
Paris Hilton Doesn't Want Mom Kathy Entangled In Drama
"My sister and I, we just love our mom so much. We're so close. And that show is just, like what you're saying, there's just a lot of drama," Paris continued. "There's a lot of unnecessary arguments, you know, drama is what gets ratings and what sells. So, we just don't really want our mom being involved in that drama."
Although Kathy just joined "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" in an official cast position, she's been seen on the series in cameo roles in years past.
Kathy Hilton May Have Joined 'RHOBH' Out Of Boredom
Looking back at their mother's decision to suddenly take on the official "friend" role on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" season 11, Paris admitted that she and her sister suspected that being in quarantine led their mother to make a decision she wouldn't have made under normal circumstances.
"Nicky and I were talking about it like, if there was not a pandemic happening right now and she wasn't so bored at home, there's no way what she would've said yes to this," Paris stated.
Paris Hilton Believes Kathy Will Steer Clear Of Drama On 'RHOBH'
As for what she expects to see from the upcoming episodes of season 11, Paris said she doesn't think her mother will get to emerged into the drama of the reality show.
"I don't think she'll get involved in the drama—hopefully," Paris shared.
"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" season 11 premieres on May 19 at 8/7c on Bravo with returning cast members Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Sutton Stracke, and Garcelle Beauvais, and new cast member Crystal Kung Minkoff.
