New reports about Tyreek Hill's recent run-in with authorities contradict the earlier statements and claims.
The Miami Dolphins wide receiver got into trouble on Sunday, September 8, hours before his team's season opener match against the Jacksonville Jaguars. While his agent claims the situation was uncalled for, authorities reps beg to differ.
The president of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association recently issued a statement, painting Hill as the problem and cops as the heroes in the situation. They accused him of multiple crimes, including public endangerment.
Tyreek Hill Slammed For Reckless Driving And Refusing To Cooperate With Cops
The South Florida Police Benevolent Association is a massive police union that represents over 6,000 law enforcement officers in the Sunshine State. After their encounter with Hill, the SFLPBA president came to their officers' defense.
In a recent statement, the SFLPBA alleged that Hill was driving recklessly before getting stopped by officers on his way to the Hard Rock Stadium. The president claimed he put "himself and others in a great risk of danger" yet refused to cooperate with cops.
"Mr. Hill was not immediately cooperative with the officers on scene who, pursuant to the policy and for their immediate safety, placed Mr. Hill in handcuffs," the SFLPBA told TMZ, adding:
"Mr. Hill, still uncooperative, refused to sit on the ground and was therefore redirected to the ground. Once the situation was sorted out within a few minutes, Mr. Hill was issued two traffic citations and was free to leave."

The SFLPBA stressed that they supported "the actions of our officers " but were looking forward to "further open communication moving forward." The Union's statement follows an investigation into Hill's arrest.
The Blast reported that the Miami-Dade Police Department Director Stephanie V. Daniels revealed she had "initiated an Internal Affairs investigation to ensure a thorough review of the matter." In a statement, she said:
"One of the officers involved in the incident has been placed on administrative duties while the investigation is being conducted."
Daniels stressed that she was "committed to transparency and accountability to the community with any situation involving my officers." She echoed similar sentiments in a previous statement, noting the body camera footage was being reviewed.
Hill Reacts To His Arrest With An Unconventional Celebration

Despite the drama happening just hours before the Miami Dolphins faced the Jacksonville Jaguars, Hill did not let the incident ruin his mojo. The athlete scored a touchdown with an 80-yard pass in the third quarter of the home game.
However, he shocked fans by mimicking his arrest during his celebration. His teammate Jaylen Waddle pretended to slap cuffs on his wrists while Hill walked along the wall of people in the end zone with his hands behind his back.
This playful reaction to his arrest was a significant improvement from his alleged foul mood following the incident. On Sunday, Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, claimed the NFL star was "okay, very upset, but he's okay."

In his statement, Rosenhaus alleged that Hill "felt like things got way out of hand" and that "there will be an investigation" into the matter. He slammed authorities by implying the arrest was shady, saying:
"This shouldn't happen to a player who is entering his own stadium. I'm not pointing fingers, but something happened that shouldn't have."
"I don't know how you can be reckless or have a moving violation to that extent," the athlete's agent lamented, adding, "He supports police officers; he wants to be a police officer, but in this instance, he was treated very badly."
Tyreek Hill's Arrest Comes Months After His Home Went Up In Flames
Eight months before his issues with authorities, Hill faced a terrifying incident when his Florida mansion went up in flames. Fortunately, the inferno did not claim any victims as the athlete and his wife, Keeta Vaccaro, were absent.
A Florida's Davie Fire Department spokesperson revealed a young child in one of the mansion's bedrooms had initiated the fire. The incident was ruled as an accident caused by the minor playing with a lighter.
A video from the tragic fire captured Hill and his wife outside their home as firefighters struggled to put out the flames. The Miami Dolphins star was visibly upset while Vaccaro attempted to console him.
Will Tyreek Hill's arrest be the last incident 2024 has in store for him, or is there more to come?
