The Chicago Sky star took to TikTok to reveal that she's opted to have surgery for the wrist injury that ended her rookie season early.  She began her video by saying, "Let me just answer a few questions" because people keep asking for more information on what's going on.

Reese said she hurt her wrist when she fell back and landed on her hand and now has a "small crack" in the bone.

"Basically, the doctors told me that I could either not get surgery or have surgery. The risk of not having surgery, I could literally have arthritis at 22 years old, that wasn't an option," she said. "The bone could literally crack and completely shatter. Right now, it's a hairline."

She said she opted for surgery because, without it, the injury could cause her to not be able to play basketball later on since the location of the crack is a "hard place to heal because the blood flow is literally little to none."

Reese revealed that she is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday.

Following her wrist surgery, Reese will be in a hard cast for four weeks and then will switch to a removable soft cast for an additional two weeks.

"And then I'm back," she said. "So, six weeks I'll be back to doing my own thing, normal life."

Angel Reese Addressed The Rumors

After explaining what's going on with her wrist and her upcoming surgery and recovery, Reese addressed the multiple rumors swirling around.

"I'm not pregnant. That was never a thing," she said. "I want to make this crystal, crystal, crystal clear. I don't have a man to have kids. I don't have a ring to have kids. I am 22 with no kids, and I'm not coming home to kids. So that's not gonna be a thing anytime soon."

She then talked about hearing people say she faked her injury.

"Did I fake an injury? Let's be real. I've literally played with my ankle like a golf ball. Like a little golf ball when we played against Iowa and, like, pain," she explained. "You know I'm hurt when I can't play."

She further explained that "it's not worth" playing through the pain and making the injury worse.

"I want to have a long career in the league," she said. "I want to play basketball for a while, so it's not worth it."

Reese began to close out her TikTok video sharing what the next few weeks look like for her.

"So in the meantime, I will just be in my hard cast for four weeks, when I get surgery on Tuesday, and then that time I'm just gonna be lifting, running, conditioning, shooting with my off-hand," she said. "Working on my nutrition, modeling still, podcast still, being a baddie still."

She also added that she will be supporting her teammates and "loving them from afar, well not afar, but on the bench."

She also added that her spirits are high because she's giving herself grace and she's "been through this before."

"I'm completely fine," she said. "I'm looking forward to this minor setback to a major comeback. Year two is about to be scary hours."

Angel Reese Shared A Heartfelt Message On Social Media

Before revealing her plans for surgery and beyond, Reese announced that her season was ending early on Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter.

"What a year. I never would have imagined the last bucket of my rookie season would be a 3 but maybe that was God saying give them a taste of what they will be seeing more of in Year 2 lol," Reese wrote in her Instagram caption.

"Through it all, I have showed that I belong in this league even when no one else believed. All I ever wanted was to come into the W and make an impact. I can confidently say I have done that and will strive to keep doing so."

The Sky star's caption went on to explain why her season is ending early and abruptly.
