Tyreek Hill brushed off his controversial arrest with a unique end-zone celebration just hours after cops had him in handcuffs.

The NFL superstar's run-in with the law did not stop him from showcasing his skills at the Miami Dolphins season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. On Sunday, September 8, he scored a touchdown in the third quarter of the home game.

Tyreek Hill went viral earlier that morning after various videos of his roadside detainment made rounds on social media platforms. His arrest is reportedly under investigation following concerns about the cops' behavior.

Sunday's game saw Hill earning a touchdown with an 80-yard pass, an achievement he marked by referencing his issues with cops. He and his teammate Jaylen Waddle mimicked his arrest during the end-zone celebration.

Waddle pretended to be an officer handcuffing Hill while the latter walked along the wall of fans in the end zone with his hands behind his back. The unusual celebration came hours after his run-in with Miami law enforcement.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Miami-Dade Police Department Director Stephanie V. Daniels revealed she had "initiated an Internal Affairs investigation to ensure a thorough review of the matter." She added:

"One of the officers involved in the incident has been placed on administrative duties while the investigation is being conducted."

Hill's Agent Revealed Something Shady Had Happened

The Miami Police Department's Director stressed that she was "committed to transparency and accountability to the community with any situation involving my officers."

In a previous statement, Daniels noted she was reviewing "all details surrounding the incident," including the available body camera footage. Her words came at the heels of Hill's agent's comments about the controversial arrest.

The Blast reported that Drew Rosenhaus broke his silence about the arrest on Sunday, claiming, "Tyreek's okay, very upset, but he's okay." He stated that the NFL star "felt like things got way out of hand" and that "there will be an investigation."

Rosenhaus implied the arrest was shady, stressing, "This shouldn't happen to a player who is entering his own stadium. I'm not pointing fingers, but something happened that shouldn't have."

What Happened Between Hill And Miami Cops?

When asked what happened between Hill and authorities, Rosenhaus noted he did not witness the incident. However, the arrest occurred when "[Tyreek] was entering the stadium in his car."

"I don't know how you can be reckless or have a moving violation to that extent," the athlete's agent lamented, adding, "He supports police officer; he wants to be a police officer, but in this instance, he was treated very badly."

Former football coach and sportscaster Stephen Ray Mariucci shed more light on Hill's arrest on "NFL Gameday Morning." He claimed there was a car accident, and the wide receiver stopped to help those involved.

Mariucci confirmed the 30-year-old was not injured in the accident, while ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Hill was detained due to a driving violation outside Hard Rock Stadium.

The traffic violation isn't the first hurdle Hill has faced this year, with The Blast reporting that his Florida mansion went up in flames in January. Fortunately, there were no victims as the athlete and his wife, Keeta Vaccaro, were absent.

A Florida's Davie Fire Department spokesperson revealed a young child in one of the mansion's bedrooms had initiated the inferno at Hill's property. The kid accidentally caused the fire while playing with a lighter.

Video from the tragic incident captured Hills and his wife at the scene of the still-burning mansion while firefighters worked to put out the flames. The NFL star was visibly upset while Vaccaro attempted to console him.

Dolphins Coach Believed In Tyreek Hill's Abilities

Days after the inferno at Hill's home, the Dolphins coach, Mike McDaniel, praised him highly. The latter echoed his belief in the athlete's abilities, noting he was unbothered by his high drop rate.

"I think when you are a player of his caliber that our team depends on so much, that can be a little misleading in terms of he gets a ton of targets, and when we go to him in high-stake situations, it's not like he is just gliding in an open field," McDaniel explained.

"He's proven time and time again why we continue to go to him. There are zero people, including myself, that are concerned about a pattern of whatever," the coach continued, adding:

"He has a high expectation to literally make every play. And in that process, there's no such thing as a 100 percent shooter."

Tyreek Hill proved his coach right by scoring a touchdown just hours after his arrest. But will the ongoing investigation prove his innocence or guilt?
