Bebe Rexha has just clocked over a quarter of a million likes for her stringy bikini 360, one that came with a massive reminder that healthy body-image is to be taken seriously. The 31-year-old singer, who has suffered body-shaming up the wazoo, today updated her Instagram with the #EVERYBODYISBEAUTIFUL hashtag, one she quickly got reposted as a poolside video showed her offering a full view of her gorgeous curves in a super-tiny, high-cut black swimsuit. Check out the video and response below.
Scroll for the video, one that didn’t just include the blonde, but opened with her. The “Sacrifice” singer, braving an unedited and very real video, posted footage of herself standing squarely in front of the camera while by a pool, with the star seen in an impossibly high-cut and thin-strapped black bathing suit, one that got its thong reveal as the singer turned around.
Bebe, also wearing a baseball cap and going makeup-free, paused briefly as she turned around for a profile and rear shot, then sending out the peace sign.
Text at the bottom of the video read: “Thick thighs save lives,” with a swipe-right then showing TikTok posts from others embracing their bodies – in all shapes and sized.
“I WANNA SEE YOUR REAL BODIES. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. THICK. SKINNY. CELLULITE. STRETCH MARKS. FOLDS. SEND ME VIDEOS. NO PHOTOSHOP BULLSHIT. POST ON TIK TOK/ INSTAGRAM AND TAG ME AND ILL REPOST #EVERYBODYISBEAUTIFUL #sacrifice,” the caption read. Over 400,000 likes were left by the time the video was three hours old. See the reactions after it.
Bebe, who has claimed that high-end designers have refused to dress her because she isn’t a size zero, has opened up on her mentality, and it’s a healthy one.
“The more I tried to be weak like those pop stars I grew up with or the ones I look at now, I could not do it in a natural or healthy way. I like to eat. I exercise. I drink water. I do,” she wrote in 2016. “I do my best. Follow the rhythm of my body.” More photos below.
2019 marked a massive headline for Rexha as she was body-shamed and called “tubby” while in tight latex pants. The June storm saw a troll write: “You’re gaining a lot of weight, tubby,” with Bebe firing back: “Yes I have. Working on myself.”
The post was not ignored by eating disorder survivor and former Disney star Demi Lovato, who swooped in to write: “You are GORGEOUS, strong, authentic, and an inspiration to me and so many. Thank you for being you, you BEAUTIFUL, beautiful woman.”
