Taylor Swift was present for 13 of Travis Kelce’s games last season, during which he and the Chiefs achieved an 11-6 record before clinching their second consecutive Super Bowl title.
The 2024-2025 NFL season is set to kick off on Thursday, with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Baltimore Ravens, and Taylor Swift is expected to be in attendance.
Kansas City Chiefs CEO Hints At Taylor Swift's Attendance For September 5th Game
Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt just dropped the news that Taylor is expected to hit the stands at Thursday night’s game to cheer on her boyfriend, Travis, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
While Hunt spilled the tea to the "TODAY" show about her attendance, he kept the specifics of her seat under wraps, saying, “No, it’s always a little bit of a surprise, but I’m sure the TV cameras will find her.”
And trust us, they always do. After one of Taylor's earlier appearances, Travis couldn’t help but give a shoutout: “Taylor for pulling up, that was pretty ballsy.”
On his "New Heights" podcast, he gushed about the positive vibes she got from everyone in the suite, saying, “I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her, the friends and family.”
Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift Go Public
Taylor and Travis's romance officially took off in the summer of 2023, but it was their public outings that really turned up the heat.
Taylor was spotted cheering Travis on at NFL games and joining him at high-profile events, making their relationship hard to ignore. Not only has she been his biggest fan in the stands, but their love affair has also cast a spotlight on Travis' NFL career like never before.
Taylor Swift Draws In A Bigger Fan Base
Taylor continuously supported Travis from the stands throughout the 2023-2024 season, frequently joining other players' partners like Brittany Mahomes, wife of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as well as Travis’s parents, Donna and Ed.
She was often accompanied by her own circle of friends, including Sophie Turner and Blake Lively.
“It’s been fun to see them together over the last year,” Hunt told the "TODAY" show, per People Magazine. “It caught us by surprise. When she showed up at that first game against the Chicago Bears, our fans went crazy.”
The Kansas City Chiefs CEO acknowledged that Taylor's presence at games, and her relationship with Travis has “certainly has impacted our fanbase.”
“We have a lot more female fans now and, specifically, young female fans,” he said.
Taylor Swift Brushes Off The Haters
The haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, and Taylor continues to "Shake It Off."
While her appearance has helped grow the Chiefs fan base and NFL viewership, many sports fans were annoyed with how frequently she was being shown on the screen, but the pop star didn't let that bother her.
“I’m just there to support Travis,” Taylor told Time Magazine in December. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she added. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”
Taylor Swift's Impact On The NFL
Taylor's NFL takeover has been nothing short of explosive, especially since her romance with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis hit the headlines.
The pop sensation's game-day appearances have sent TV ratings through the roof, with fans flocking to watch, not just the football action, but also catch a glimpse of Taylor in the stands. And it’s not just about the ratings—Travis' jersey sales skyrocketed by a jaw-dropping 400% on the NFL’s Fanatics store as soon as Taylor started showing up at his games.
One thing is clear: Taylor isn’t just dating an NFL star; she’s turning the entire league into a blockbuster event.
Taylor is expected to attend the Kansas City Chiefs game on Thursday, September 5.
