Meghan Markle is getting blamed for the death of Prince Philip – the Duke of Edinburgh and husband to Queen Elizabeth II died today aged 99, with Fox News seemingly wasting no time in blaming the 39-year-old Duchess of Sussex for his passing. On Friday, Buckingham Palace confirmed that The Queen’s husband of 73 years had passed away, with tributes coming in fast. Fox News host Brian Kilmeade is now pointing daggers at Prince Harry’s wife, and he didn’t hold back. See it below.
Scroll for photos. Prince Philip, last photographed in public and looking frail as he left the hospital following a 28-day stay for his pre-existing heart condition and an infection, is now front-page news, and it looks like Meghan Markle is joining him.
“There are reports that he was enraged after the interview and the fall out from the interview with Oprah Winfrey,” Kilmeade, said on “Fox and Friends” Friday morning. “Here he is trying to recover, and then he gets hit with that.”
Continuing, Kilmeade added: “Just think about this. Your grandfather’s in the hospital, you know he’s not doing well, is it really the time you have to put out this interview? And evidently it definitely added to his stress.”
The reference was, of course, to the headline making sit-down Meghan and Harry recently had with TV mogul Oprah Winfrey, where accusations of racism, particularly towards the couple’s son Archie, were made against the Royal Family. Archie is mixed race. More photos below.
While Buckingham Palace has pleaded with the public not to leave flowers, the outpourings are coming in fast, this following the 6 p.m. bells, 99 of them, at Westminster Abbey in London. Prince Philip died in Windsor. Prince Harry and Meghan have since made a statement regarding the Duke’s death. A message on archewell.com, brief, was made today as the couple payed their respects.
“In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. 1921-2021.” It adds: “Thank you for your service… you will be greatly missed.”
Earlier today, The Palace released a statement confirming the sad news.
“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. Further announcements will made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”
Prince Philip had received his COVID vaccine along with The Queen back in January.
