Leah Remini's estranged husband, Angelo Pagán, is preparing all the contingencies to protect his finances amid their divorce!
The reality star's partner of 28 years requested that the presiding judge block the court's ability to award the actress spousal support in their divorce case.
Angelo Pagán filed this request on August 30 as a response to Leah Remini's divorce petition filed on August 29.

The actress reportedly filed the paperwork without legal counsel and cited "irreconcilable differences"as the reason for their split after over two decades of marriage.
In her filing, Remini indicated that the court should terminate the right of both her and Pagán to collect spousal support. Spousal support seemed to be the only stumbling block on their path as they share an adult daughter, which makes child support a non-issue.
Pagán, who also filed his petition without a legal representative, listed the date of their union as July 19, 2003, and the official date of their separation as August 1. He claimed that a list of community and separate property had yet to be determined, per In Touch.

The Blast noted that the estranged couple announced their separation in a joint statement released on their Instagram account, which read:
"Well, here we are. After 28 years together and 21 years of marriage, we have decided to file for divorce. This decision came after a lot of thought and care, and as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it's what's best for us. We are proud of how we have worked through this together."
The duo confessed that the new development left them sad, but they "got some figuring out to do" as they continued to move forward into their new normal.
"Together still in many ways, and apart in some new one. But here's the thing: we've been best friends for so many years. We are still celebrating holidays together, watching our favorite TV shows together, and gathering as a family," they added.

Their joint statement encompassed the reason for their marriage going south. According to them, they "both changed as people."
Remini and Pagán added that they got used to playing roles that no longer aligned with their reality, and the decision to go their separate ways was borne out of a lot of "effort and consideration."
They continued that the new step indicated their new stage in life, maintaining that their "bond is still strong" and has simply evolved into something different.
"We think a marriage that lasted this long and created so many beautiful memories, especially raising our incredible daughter, is something to celebrate," the couple added.

"We would love for everyone to have more access to different kinds of relationship stories and not feel so isolated in navigating the changes that millions of couples make every year."
The couple expressed hope that their marital "journey can inspire others to see that relationships — whether they change or end — aren't failures."
Remini reportedly sold off her six-bedroom, eight-bathroom, 10,100-square-foot home in Studio City, California, for a whopping $9 million weeks before news of their divorce was made public.
Leah Remini Reminisced On Her Narrow Escape From Scientology
Remini bagged an associate's degree from New York University five months before announcing her separation from Pagán and happily shared the news on her social media.
The 54-year-old disclosed that she made the decision to embark on the "terrifying journey" of "becoming a college student at the age of 50 after only having an 8th-grade education and spending 35 years in a totalitarian cult."
She noted that the harrowing years of brainwashing by the Church of Scientology still had serious effects on her life, but her strong will kept her going. She encouraged others to learn from her and persevere through life no matter the condition, adding:
"Whether a cult used to control your life, you have a full-time job as a stay-at-home parent or full-time job(s) outside of the home."
Remini reiterated that it was never too late to pick up abandoned projects and pursue the goals one has "always wanted to achieve" for oneself.
The estranged couple may finally need the service of experienced divorce attorneys should their spousal support battle become complicated.
