Artem Chigvintsev's Case Gains Momentum On The District Attorney's Table
The Napa County Sheriff just turned over Chigvintsev's case to the Napa County D.A. According to their spokesperson, their office is still reviewing details of the case and no official decision has been made on his charges.
An inside source disclosed that the D.A. will make a decision after thoroughly reviewing the case and will issue a public statement on the next step.
Carlos Villatoro shared that the D.A.'s office still needs to examine witness statements, view footage from the incident, and pictures that may have been taken or any other evidence the police discovered at the point of investigation.
The Russian professional dancer's arraignment is currently scheduled for November 4, according to TMZ.
The Dancer's Was Involved In An Altercation With His Partner Last Week
Things got heated between the couple last Thursday, prompting the authorities to take Chigvintsev into custody. The 42-year-old was arrested for corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant after he allegedly left Garcia with injuries from their violent exchange.
Chigvintsev reportedly called for medical assistance and later changed his mind, telling the paramedics not to bother. But the cops soon showed up at the location and arrested him.
Garcia was spotted without her wedding ring on Monday, after her partner's arrest, when she appeared on Netflix's Joey Chestnut vs. Kobayashi hotdog-eating contest.
Sources close to the reality star also shared that she is looking for a divorce lawyer to end their two-year marriage. The duo are parents to a 4-year-old son, Matteo, who is reportedly currently staying with Garcia in their family home, while Artem is staying with a friend.
Chigvintsev's Claimed 911 Call Was Due To An Argument With Nikki Garcia
The Blast noted that the released audio from the dancer's call had him sharing that he got into an argument with his wife, leading her to throw shoes at him.
The dispatcher then confirmed that a child was on the scene of the incident, adding that "there's an active 415 (disturbing the peace) in the background responsible."
Upon arrival, authorities found injuries on Garcia, who, however, asked them to keep their identity private. Chigvintsev was then taken in on charges of felony corporal injury to a spouse and was released around 2:15 pm on the same day after posting bail.
The dancer was reportedly cooperative through the process and after news of the incident broke out, the Napa County Sheriff's Department released his official mugshots.
The Couple Recently Marked Their Second Wedding Anniversary
Just three days before the domestic violence incident, Garcia and Chigvintsev celebrated their second wedding anniversary on Instagram with a reel highlighting some of their most romantic moments.
Garcia captioned the video with lyrics to Haley Reinhart’s cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” song and reiterated her love for the dancer, writing:
“This song is our love story. I'll never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem. Having a conversation with He & God. How my feelings felt too soon. It all felt too fast."
She continued, "And then this song came on. And that's when I knew that I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be.”
