New details about Amy Slaton's recent arrest have emerged, but the truth behind the camel incident remains a mystery.

The "1000-Lb Sisters" star was booked on drug possession charges after cops reportedly found substances in her possession at the Tennessee Safari Park. They were called to the site for an alleged camel bite incident.

Amy Slaton claims she was injured by the giant mammal and had to be wheeled out of the zoo. However, the park's officials refuted her side of the story.

The drama went down at the Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo on Monday, September 2, with new pictures showing Amy on a gurney. She seemed to be in pain, with a piece of clothing wrapped around one arm like a makeshift tourniquet.

Eyewitnesses claimed they saw Amy walking through the parking lot with the shirt wrapped around her arm before EMS workers arrived and whisked her away. So, what happened to the TLC star? Cops shared that a camel bit her.

The Tennessee Safari Park features a drive-through safari and a walk-through zoo, where people pay to feed exotic animals. The creatures available for the close contact experience include camels and giraffes, but these mammals are supposedly peaceful.

One of the owners of Tennessee Safari Park, Jon Conley, assured TMZ that Amy's injury did not come from a camel. He claimed the cut above her elbow could not be linked to the creature's bite marks because the skin was fileted open, and there was no bruised tissue.

Park Owner Claims Amy's Camel Bite Story Doesn't Check Out

Conley doubled down on the park's camels being innocent in Amy's case, stressing that no one had ever been bitten by the creatures in their years of operation despite having thousands of guests.

The park co-owner also dismissed Amy's story over a lack of evidence, noting that no surveillance footage backed her claim. Additionally, Conley argued that the TV personality could not explain where the alleged incident occurred in the park.

While the camel bite incident remains a mystery, Amy's drug possession charge appears to be a no-brainer. Cops claimed they found psychedelic mushrooms and marijuana in her car.

That wasn't all; the substances were reportedly in plain sight despite there being two children in Amy's car. Naturally, having minors in the presence of drugs got the 36-year-old in a lot of trouble.

The Blast shared that Amy's arrest was announced in a Facebook post by the Crockett County Sheriff's Department. They explained she and a man named Brian Scott Lovvorn were apprehended at the Safari Park.

"Upon arrival, deputies were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest's vehicle," the statement explained, noting that Amy and her companion were arrested and booked into the Crockett County Jail on multiple charges.

The list included charges of illegal possession of schedule I, illegal possession of schedule IV, and two counts of child endangerment. Despite the severity of Amy's case, her fate has not been sealed in stone.

Amy Can Escape The Drug Possession Charge With Proof Of Innocence

In the arrest announcement, the Sheriff's Department stressed that Amy's case was still under investigation and she had not been convicted of any crimes. The message read:

"The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct and not evidence."

"The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law," the post continued, implying that the charges against Amy could be dropped with sufficient proof of her innocence.

Amy's arrest comes eleven months after her older sister, Tammy, was arrested for a similar incident. Like this recent case, authorities visited the other Slaton's home following an anonymous complaint.

Amy Slaton's Older Sister Was Previously Booked For Possessing Marijuana

In October 2023, Tammy was charged with one count of possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Her arrest came at a challenging period — just five days after her late husband Caleb Willingham's funeral.

Willingham died on July 1, 2023, with Tammy confirming the news in a poignant statement. "I am devastated to share the news of my husband's passing. He was my best friend, and I loved him dearly," she lamented, adding:

"When I met Caleb, he became my guardian angel, and now he really is watching over me. Our families appreciate everyone's sympathy and ask that you respect our privacy at this time."
