The 2024-2025 NFL season kicks off on Thursday, September 5, and the organization decided to use several Taylor Swift clips in their latest promo.
The pop icon began dating Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce in Summer 2023, but they didn't go public until last fall, when Taylor appeared at a Chiefs game alongside Travis' mom, Donna Kelce.
Taylor Swift is rumored to attend the Chiefs’ home opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, September 5.
NFL Highlights Taylor Swift Moments In New Promo
The NFL's new 30-second promo video, which was shared on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, kicks off with a bang, featuring major moments from the league starting September 2023.
It begins with Aaron Rodgers running onto the field with the New York Jets while waving an American flag, immediately followed by a shot of Taylor Swift cheering on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Taylor makes a second appearance in the September segment, where she's seen mingling with Travis' mom, Donna Kelce, in the crowd.
Taylor Swift Appears Again Later On In The NFL Promo
The rest of the 2023 highlights focus on on-field action from NFL players, including Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Makea "Puka" Nacua, Houston Texans wide receiver Nathaniel Jasper "Tank" Dell Jr., and recently retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.
Taylor makes a comeback in the January segment, sporting a Chiefs puffer jacket that mimics Travis' jersey. Her final cameo in the promo is from Super Bowl LVII this past February, where she’s seen chugging a drink on the jumbotron.
With a total of four appearances, Taylor steals the spotlight in the NFL’s video, even outshining players like her boyfriend.

Unfortunately for the NFL, many fans slammed the organization for featuring the "Red' singer as often as they did. "STOP SHOWING TAYLOR SWIFT WE DONT CARE," one X user said.
"Half the video is Taylor," another wrote, adding the laughing face emoji.
Taylor Swift was shown 4 times in this 28 second clip of football being back," a third responded.
Taylor Swift Talks About Her Relationship With Travis Kelce
Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce began their relationship in the summer of 2023, but they only made it public last fall.
“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” the singer said during a TIME Magazine cover in December 2023. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
The NFL star has made frequent appearances at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour during his off-season, and the "Red" singer showed her support for her boyfriend at several Kansas City Chiefs games during the 2023-2024 season; it's clear both are prioritizing their relationship.
“They really are very, very happy together,” a new insider told People Magazine of Taylor and Travis's relationship in July. “They’re very serious about each other, and the relationship feels different for both of them.”
“They have so much fun together, and it just works,” the source added. “It’s funny to their friends because, at first, everyone wondered what they had in common, but you realize how similar they are. They both wear their hearts on their sleeves and are all-in with everything they do, whether it’s with career, family or friends.”
Taylor Swift Responds To Backlash From NFL Fans
Shortly after Taylor Swift made her debut at a Chiefs game last fall, she was featured prominently throughout the broadcast and in games that followed, which led to some NFL fans expressing their frustration.
“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in. There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once,” she told TIME Magazine. “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads and Chads.”
The Chiefs’ home opener against the Baltimore Ravens will take place on Thursday, September 5.
