Gold medal gymnast Laurie Hernandez is getting ready to take the stage in front of millions of people when she competes at the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games this summer. For the Summer Games, she'll be draped in the red, white and blue of Team USA, but the gymnast is known for her amazing custom leotards and is now explaining how she came up with the inspiration behind her latest design.
Taking to Instagram, Laurie Hernandez shared a photo of herself in the customized leotard.

"A lot of people are curious where the different patterns on my leotards are inspired from," Laurie Hernandez wrote to her 1.4 million followers while showing off the multi-patterned outfit.
The 20-year-old star added, "for this @gkelite kaleidoscope tank, it was all about keeping your perspective colorful and bright."
Fans were also feeling the look as they showered the gymnastics star with nearly 60,000 likes and tons of positive comments.
The workout leotard, made by GK Gymnastics, is available for $59.99 on their website.
Laurie Hernandez is serious when it comes to the different looks she shows while competing in gymnastics competitions around the world. Earlier this year, she shed some insight to many of the designs she would be showing off in 2021, including an outfit (photo below) inspired by Brie Larson in Marvel's "Captain Marvel."
"Ok so i told some of y’all that my leos i designed for this year are all inspired by superheroes... here’s the first one! @brielarson queen do u approve??" Hernandez wrote on Instagram back in February.
Her fans, and even the official Marvel Instagram account, all approved.
