Pete Davidson's repeated trips to rehabilitation facilities have got his friends begging him to go home.
The "Saturday Night Live" alum has been vocal about his addiction and mental health struggles, a battle that allegedly worsened following the end of his relationship with actress Madelyn Cline.
Given his recent trip to rehab, it is unsurprising that Pete Davidson's pals want him to quit the Hollywood life and return to his roots.
Pete Davidson's Friends Are Concerned About His Well-Being
Being a celebrity is not always a rosy affair, especially in Davidson's case, with the fame reportedly affecting his mental health and addiction battles. An insider claimed his pals were begging him to return to his blue-collar roots in Staten Island, saying:
"Pete should move in with his mom [Amy] and not look back. Life in the Hollywood fast lane continues to chew him up and spit him out, and it's not healthy for someone with Pete's problems."
"He's just not solid enough to say 'no' when he has to," the source explained, implying that those in Davidson's A-list circle used him for clout instead of caring about his well-being.
The list of exploiters included his infamous ex-girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, who allegedly enjoyed basking in the publicity they attracted. In Touch reported that Davidson's close pals believed she used him as her rebound flame following her separation from Ye, formerly Kanye West.
Davidson's Ex-Girlfriends Get Bashed For Not Supporting Him
The insider bashed Kardashian for not being there for Davidson in his time of need, implying that she used him for clout before bailing on him. "Those are not the people who care deeply for him and want to see him at his best," they argued, adding:
"Where's Kim when all the stuff goes down? Nowhere! But what do you expect from Hollywood?"
The reality TV star wasn't the only ex-girlfriend catching heat, as Davidson's most recent flame, Madelyn Cline, might be linked to his rehab stint. The comedian reportedly became increasingly unpredictable and erratic following their July split.
"Pete took the breakup very hard. For just a blink of an eye, he may have thought she was the one. They burned so brightly together and had so much in common," the source claimed.
Inside Davidson's Addiction And Mental Health Struggles
Davidson has struggled with substance abuse issues for years, including a ketamine addiction — the dangerous hallucinogen that led to Matthew Perry's death. The comedian once claimed he used the drug daily for four years.
Besides drugs, Davidson was in a constant battle with his mental health and has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. He also has post-traumatic stress disorder related to the death of his father during the 9/11 tragedy.
"I'm always depressed. I have to constantly bring myself out of it. My rock bottom is when people are scared for my life, and I have to go away, and then I have to bring myself back up again," Davidson once said about his struggles.
The 'SNL' Alum Wants To Improve His Mental Health
While reflecting on his mental health battles, Davidson noted that he had hit "rock bottom" a few times, but "as long as you're around good, supportive people, and if you're strong enough, you'll be able to get out of it."
True to his word, the media personality sought out the support system in a rehabilitation facility following his breakup with Cline. Weeks earlier, The Blast shared that he was still receiving treatment amid claims of his discharge.
A source close to him confirmed "Pete remains in his treatment program" and was focused on "bettering his mental health" during his stay in rehab. However, they did not disclose when Davidson would be discharged.
Pete Davidson And Madelyn Cline Split After Nearly A Year Together
Davidson's recent rehab stint came at the heels of his separation from Cline. The Blast reported the pair quietly ended their romance after spending nearly a year together, but their exact separation date was uncertain.
The former couple kept a low profile during their romance and were last seen together publicly in January during Davidson's stand-up performance at the Helium Comedy Club in Philadelphia. A source confirmed their breakup, claiming:
"They ended things fairly recently, and I understand it was amicable."
While it is unclear if losing Madelyn Cline triggered Pete Davidson's latest rehab stint, taking a break from the spotlight may benefit the comedian. But will he return to his roots?
